£1500 Build

I was having a quick gander at 7600x3d review...for gaming, it's not that far off it's bigger brother the 7800x3d, falls down in non gaming though as only the 6 cores..I guess it behaves more like the 7900x3d then, which is 6+6 cores with only x3d on 6 cores...just misses out on the productivity side...hard though..7600X at £150 quite compelling now...even 7700x is £233 with free delivery (ocuk still have it £320)...that's not a bad shout actually if you use pc for more than just gaming, and 4k, I'd prefer the 8 cores...just don't buy it from ocuk

Trust me I've spent most of the day umming and rrring about it. Was ******* me off, as I normally make a decision quite easily once I've done a bit of research!

I think at this point in time you made the right choice tbh, I'd be more inclined toward waiting to see what the 10800X3D brings (or whatever they end up naming it).

We're not that far off really, for gaming and sufficient budget I'd say the best options are the following:

1. Buy in at the low end such as the 7600, maybe the 9600 if you're into one or two niche titles (there's actually 20-30% uplift between the two in the odd albeit rare thing, Assetto Corsa comes to mind), with a view to get a later gen X3D for AM5.
2. Go balls in with a current X3D and wait for AM6 or whatever the Intel equivalent ends up being.

Reading that thread there are similar reports to the chip I’ve bought. Unless it’s coincidental

If you go looking for bad things, you're going to find bad things, especially in certain circles (reddit is primed for it).

You often get hysteria and those simply looking for attention, "I don't have a more expensive CPU but look at me too! I have the issues you have!" -- it's an unfortunate part of the human condition and one that has only became more prominent in the internet age.

That said, if you're concerned it's totally valid and for peace of mind alone I understand changing to a different motherboard. It's not something that I personally would be fussed about, but if you're going to feel constantly on edge about your purchases especially given the expense change to a different motherboard. I'm not well versed in USB4 as it's very rarely relevant to anyone, but I'm sure someone else can advise for you.

Below doesn't look too shabby...x870-p from msi..quick look it has 1 usb4 type c(40gb)..the othr is a usb type c 20gb, 2 usb type a 10gb, 2 usb type a 5 gb, 4 usbtype a for keyboard and mouse stuff, wifi 7 and a 5gb lan. it's a 6 layer pcb, rather than 8 for the more premium boards and sound is alc897 codec. but it does have a clear cmos button as well as bios flashback

i would swap out the NV3 to the teamgroup mp44L
the MP44L uses TLC nand, the NV3 uses QLC nand
QLC nand has lower write endurance and lower speeds once the write cache is exhausted

both scenarios are unlikely to be apparent in real-world usage for the majority of users
but why hamstring yourself with a lower quality drive when the better drive is exactly the same price?

Errmm help tried a test boot before putting it into the case and I’ve got the below.Any ideas? Is that the memory training? Or is there is something wrong? I checked the manual but it didn’t really help.

It just sits like that monitor connected nothing on that. No fans spin up just those leds cycling through colours :(
The fans not spinning seems odd if there connected correctly

Put the GPU and see if you get a signal to the monitor after that try one stick of memory at a time.

After that maybe check the CPU socket for bent pins
