Ah yes, I recall having this conversation before. I'll know your Mum for sure. Never in her class but she did teach my class a few times. English teacher?

Yup.

Oh and Penski, don't label me a southener, I was born a mile or so from you live :p

You were born 70 miles south of where I was...You may as well be drinking shandy! ;)

Anyway...I like thunderstorms; I like to stand outside in them shouting "COME ON, YA <fatherless child>! I DARE YA!"

I woke up at 4am nearly crapping myself. Was inconceivably loud, louder than any thunder ever before. I was totally awe struck actually. The garage managed to somehow get flooded though, so I've been up since 4 mopping with towels and sponges, hundreds of litres, not fun. Good storm though :D

Most powerful one ive ever been in is the one i was in last year when i was in Toronto. Went up to the CN Tower with my 5 yr old niece and onto the highest observation deck when it started thundering quite badly and the tower itself was hit quite a few times by lightening.
Suffice to say ive never been so scared in my life whilst my niece...bless her absolutely loved it lol:p.

Mind you some of the thunderstorms they get over there are nothing short of amazing though unlike here. Havent really seen one thats made me wonder in awe at it.

According to that UK weather site its supposed to rain all day but no thunder, although having said that i'm now sweating as there is hardly a cloud in the sky hmmm  . We had like 2 pieces very far away a couple of days ago but other than that its just been very humid (hertfordshire) :(

can hear the thunder coming in the distance now here at Teesside, shouldnt be long now for some rain
Heard some here, in Darlington - thunder has been rumbling for 10-15 minutes.

Woohoo!

Cracking thunder storn in Worcester yesterday evening. I think a couple of bolts hit the racecourse behind my house. Wherever it was it was really close and I've not heard thunder that loud in a long time.

 I hope mine isn't, although I do live on a slight hill so hopefully might get away with it. Poo, just realised hope my dogs are fine :(
