We very very rarely get decent thunderstorms up here. We had one a few weeks ago with a few bolts hitting the ground but it was still fairly tame.
If I hadn't broke my last mobile phone I could have posted a few videos of stuff we did in the high voltage lab at uni

One a few weeks ago shook my house literally. Also we were hit by lightning and so no phone for a few weeks(or internet!! :eek:

).

Proper scary being woken up by a HUGE bang at 6am

Our weather always does everything in a boring, average kind of way. As far as our thunder storms go it was a reasonable attempt, but compared to those I've seen while in the states with some really impressive fork lightning it just doesnt compare.

Just kicked off big time here in Leamington around 30mins ago. Huge cloud burst, thunder & lightening. Getting a good draft through the house now!

We had a nice storm over here a couple of nights ago. It had been 95degs during the day and ridiculously humid. Then at 2am I was woken up by 85mph winds and hail. The lightning was constant - the storms are so big in the midwest that there's lighting as far as the eye can see. Next morning I went to work and it was like a war zone. Most of the traffic lights had been knocked out and the east side of town had no power. There were some pretty big trees snapped like little twigs. Very impressive! Still can't beat my experience in January tho - standing in a blizzard, up to my knees in snow, with lightning flashing around..........lightning + snow = :eek:

Also, this was a tornado that touched down just a few miles away from where I live. I didn't see it because.........I was hiding in the basement

Only killed one person amazingly!

why do I always always stay asleep through everything

one time, i was camping with my parents, i was like 7 and the whole tent moved and water got up to the rim of the bed, didnt wake up.. when i did, looked outside.. :eek:
