;)

The final clock is 700 mhz, not 675; strange mistake for a dude supposedly in the know to have made. To that 100 mhz bump in GPU speed, add a 200 mhz bump to the shaders over the sample he allegedly tested.

A 700/1400 clocked 480 shader card would surely beat a 600/1200 clocked 512 shader card in almost every imaginable gaming scenario.

He's just some guy on a forum though so y'know, as you were, gents.

Not sure you thought that post through properly considering you're also just some guy on a forum.

Just sayin'.

I fancy a change already :D

So, I am thinking of ordering 2 to test against my 5970+5870 ... and will flog off the winners - I can't lose so I could so do with a 'place my order for 2 GTX480' bot ...

one thing i have thought of with the 480, your going to have to let the thing cool down before you can remove it, because the top part of the heatsink is acting as the top part of the shroud. now if these cards get anywhere near as hot as some people have been implying than maybe they will have to come with a warning.

The final retail cards might - I know the Radeon 4800 series did because of the exposed bit of metal that gets pretty warm.

I think it's bad that even Nvidia don't think the 470 will be as good as the 5870... Unless that slide actually means that it's cheaper? ;)

That is incorrect information. NVIDIA are not forcing any bundle deals at all.

You mean mister perfect who is well known around these parts to be right about everything has made an error?

No wander DM has been quiet today.. guess he's recovering from the shock of this terrible turn of events.

Same guy is trying to sell the cards to you. It's not objective information now is it?

In case you hadn't noticed Charlie is American and his site/sources focus mainly on US and Asian markets... maybe he's not talking about the UK!
