The final clock is 700 mhz, not 675; strange mistake for a dude supposedly in the know to have made. To that 100 mhz bump in GPU speed, add a 200 mhz bump to the shaders over the sample he allegedly tested.

A 700/1400 clocked 480 shader card would surely beat a 600/1200 clocked 512 shader card in almost every imaginable gaming scenario.

He's just some guy on a forum though so y'know, as you were, gents.

You also have to add the markup for it being a new card/low stock levels. I can see the 470 being at least £350 at launch.

Yes indeed the launch day bonus, as jedi said £350 and £500 sound reasonable, stand in line now all you 480 tri-sliers!

No pushing at the back there's plenty to go . . . er ok maybe there isnt :D

That bundle "tithe" will hopefully not be enforced for too long, as it's only to get rid of old stock AFAIK.

It may exacerbate supply problems even further during the launch window though. Yeesh...

I'm waiting for ATi to lay the smackdown & reduce the 5870 price the day after Fermi's release :D

Would they really be that cruel.....really? Hope so
lol! that would be really amusing if they dropped their entire range by £20 - £40, it's happend before & can happen again. :D

I'm not really fussed, I only had to shell out £120 for my 5850 after the sale of my previous card. :)
