There are a load of Z270 mobo reviews just gone up over at WCCFTech, so either someone jumped the gun or NDA is lifted on mobos at least. Conclusion... "Intel Core i7-7700K is without a doubt, the fastest mainstream chip in the market but it has too many drawbacks in terms of power and temperatures that make Skylake still look as the better option for gamers."

So there you have it. Nothing to see here, move along.

CES starts today. Vega reveal in 2 days and some are expecting more news of Ryzen and it's motherboards. Whilst Kabylakes is definitely imminent.

no one knows if this imminent teaser thread is for Kabylake or Ryzen but both have releases soon.

Oh. I thought it was starting next week. Good news!

Nothing new in that review either, we've known this for months. Skylake was supposed to be the "big jump", i.e. a new architecture, and it delivered barely anything over Broadwell. We also knew that Intel's switch from Tick-Tock to Process-Architecture-Optimisation meant that it'd be at least 3 years before we saw any further IPC improvement. On top of that, Cannonlake (which is Process, not Architecture) has been delayed.

I wouldn't be surprised if AMD improves their Ryzen IPC (with Zen+) before Intel gets Icelake out the door.
