Is your friend convinced yet?

He lives abroad...he replied in a whatsapp group...not spoke to him since.

I'm still not 100% convinced myself tbh! (99% tho...)

when you think of something I take it all the details rush through your mind faster than you could say them out loud?

When I listen to music, I can "see" the musicians performing in my mind. When I speak on the phone I can "see" that person in my mind and imagine what their facial expressions are. In fact, I get a picture in my head of what someone looks like when I speak to them on the phone, even if I haven't met them. I've had regular conversations with colleagues for years and then finally met them in person and been surprised at what they look like because I had a preconception of what I imagined them to look like.

Surely everyone gets that?

I've been surprised by someones age/height/weight/lbeauty....when I've seen them after speaking on the phone

Asked him about counting sheep....he said

I think I would actually imagine seeing the sort of cartoon thought bubble filled with sheep that would be in aTom &Jerry cartoon

Not sure if that counts as actually visualising sheep or conceptualising an abstract idea of "sheep."

Seems I'm the same as you Kreeeee, I've been sat here for ages trying to visualise a beach and all I get is the darkness on the inside of my eyelids :D
Only took me 61 years to discover this

This has amazed me. I just presumed that no one could physically picture something, I’ve always been able to recall high details but I can’t actually imagine anything. I feel like I’m missing out now :(

Hmmm; It's all abstract if I try to force an image, seemingly drawn and animated using the ambient light and phosphenes. Ultimately your eyes never close. You just draw your lids across them. When relaxed, still and animated images drift into and out of focus but I cannot say with any certainty what it is I'm seeing.

I do dream hard and often, occasionally lucid too. It's a blast!

Is this why it takes me at least an hour to fall asleep as when I close my eyes I can still visualise everything? I almost have to think of black to nod off. Unlike my missus who is gone ten seconds after she hit the pillow. Have always been jealous of people like that.
