Conroe won't make it anywhere the top in the bench’s when it finally gets released, considering it will only win Superpi times AMD will have a chip to pwn that one as well by that time. And people don't seem to understand that I am talking about benches, too many Conroe fan boys in this thread the time they bring it out and amds bring there’s out you be back on to the AMD ship again. After all the future is multiple cores and Intel’s multiple core technology is weak compared to AMDs they will rebuild it again from scratch.

why on earth is there so much silly argument going on here about a processor that isn't even available yet, and won't be until much later this year, its like a bunch of racing drivers arguing whose cars better, when they've only seen one of the new generation cars, everybody is having flame war over anybody who says conroe isn't the best processor, all these conroe lovers saying AMD are doomed, how the hell do you know whats going on at AMD, do any of you work for them, or have any substancial information at all or are you just relying on rumour and bloody benchmarks? total lunacy i say

I am sure you didn't pick your Venice because you happened to like that town, or it happened to be an AMD chip, or you thought 3200+ was a nice number right? Chances are, you read that they were good clockers, and at the overclocked speed, they perform well. This is backed by some benchies. Well, we have previews for both the AM2 and the Conroe. Do they provide an absolute and final verdict? Nah, I'll wait for formal reviews. But they do provide some insight.Gashman said:

Yonah gives a little bit of a hint as to what's to come, but the conroe will be a fair bit quicker clock for clock
