2 for the price of 1?

Lots of dishonesty in this thread, some of you people ought to be ashamed.

Contact the seller, tell them what has happened and ask them to pick it up.
Fact: You'd have had it on eBay, or sold it to your mate by now.

Fact: You're just jealous it didn't happen to you.

Fact: I'd keep the camera, without a guilty consciousness - after all, it wasn't my mistake.

I once bought a stereo hifi as a christmas present from ASDA and they had to get one from the warehouse cos there were none on the shelf. It came in a big brown box and when we got it home found that there were actually two in there instead of one, so we took it back. FACT.

Is it "e" before "i" or "i" before "e" in the word thief?

More fool you, then. Mistakes are made for two reasons: 1) Gain. 2) Experience/learning.

Do you help yourself to display items from outside shops?
There's a difference between helping myself, and being given goods.

The difference being that helping myself to goods would mean my actions result in the shop's loss. The postie ramming a box through my letterbox and not asking me to sign for it, would mean Postman Prat's actions have resulted in the shop's loss.

And yes, I have asked for unsigned goods to either be sent out again or be fully refunded for. :)

Do you complain when your order goes tit's up? You wounder why businesses do it to you?... Think before action is taken. How would you like it if you orded something and it never came and they said "sorry we sent it so its not our problem now sir"

You would be pretty ****** off won't you? Do the right thing....

NO SWEARING - Dangerous

I really can't believe how many people are advocating what amounts to little more than dishonesty, theft and fraud. If the people who have posted in this thread represent a true cross-section of our society, then I think we have very bad times ahead of us.

It sounds to be like the company selling the camera was doing the original poster a favour by sending out another one by priority delivery to ensure that he received it in time for Christmas.

There is no question about it. The OP should contact the company concerned and advise them that he has received an additional camera.

People like you should be shot and ashamed of. You fool.
Oh right - so opening up and keeping an unsigned package warrants a death penalty does it?

Just for you:

There's one thing accepting what you are given and then there's what you're doing which is clearly stealing, shame on you.
Why should people make mistakes and get away with them?

Clearly living up to your name, flanders :p

People in this thread clearly need to get off their high horses, you all make me want to puke :o

P.S. IIRC I believe it is your legal right to keep a present mistakenly sent to you by a corporate entity, as a "gift".

I reckon, if they ask for it back, then by all means the ethical thing to do would be sending it back, but I have serious doubts any of the above goodie two-shoe posters would take the initiative to contact the company to return it (especially one that is so major and probably wouldn't exactly be distraught about losing an item from stock).

Contact the seller/shop/e-shop whatever and explain the situation.

Being honest is the best away around things.
