2 GB Dilemma.

£20 for 11mhz???
No £18 for 19Mhz and the ability (if you get a good set) to run up to about 255mhz 2.5-2-3-5 - that's how good they are. Running CAS2.5 at over 250mhz is about the best you can get for 2GB kits at the moment. It's a combination of tight ish timings and large bandwidth - much like the BH5 of 1GB kits. Not only that but they usually run CAS2 up to ~230mhz.

Wasnt questioning ya smids mate, cos i know like everyone else does on here that ya know ya stuff. Was just saying my ZX is at 2.3.2.5 at 208mhz, thats why i said 11mhz but yeah 255mhz @ 2.5-2-3-5 does sound amazing, listen to smids sam, ya wont go wrong.

Don't worry - the ZX is a good choice - I actually had a set before but they went bad :(. I kinda missed your 11mhz thing - exam pressure methinks :p  Anyway, I got the OCZ PC4000EB plats because it was the next best thing to the Corsair 3500LL's which were £290 at the time (worldwide shortage). That new kit, despite the different heatspreader is the same thing and well worth it IMO. I would snap them up without a shadow of a doubt. My OCZ's are pretty good though - despite not making CAS2.5 at 250mhz (I think it's my board/BIOS rather than anything else - it needs tweaking) can do 218mhz 2-3-2-5 before falling flat on its face. I currently run them at ~234mhz 2.5-3-2-5 1T on a divider with my X2 4400+ @ 2.8ghz - sorry, just changed ISP's so need to reload my sig onto my new webspace! :D

Oh and don't forget Mistadave! - he's a bit of a memory guru! ;)

Hey guys,

Only just got my Corsair XMS3500LL TwinX today :D

Mine.

OcUK's.

I'm worried because they don't look like they do in the OcUK picture

Are they right? Have they just changed the heatsink

As long as the hologram sticker says 3500LL and the timings are correct, you should be ok. Usually the silver headspreaders are for labelled as PT (Platinum). The pic on the site is probably just the wrong one. ;)

Phew :p

I just had a good look at them, and the sticker says, 'CMX1024-3500LL' on each stick :D

438 MHz 2.3.2.6 - which I presume are the timings?

Time to try them out me thinks :)

Yup that's right - enjoy your good new sticks.

You've got yourself some great sticks there.. Hope they bring you as much joy as mine have to me:)

Post your results up here when you've finished having a play with them... am interested to see what other people can achieve with them:)

Okay guys - they're fitted and I've tidied up my case cabling quite a bit :)

Hence the 15 hour down time I've just had...

My old Crucial timings seem to have carried over, so there’s my starting point.

I'm going to run them in a bit first, do 12 hours or so, on Prime maybe?

One other thing - I got a bit carried away during their installation, a removed one of the 'Warranty Void If Removed Labels' - it was peeling at the sides, so I just pulled it off - I didn't even read what it said till after? I've managed to stick back on, and it looks okay, I was just wondering though, would Cosair ever be that fussy if I needed a RMA and start looking at it under a microscope or anything :(

Moving on -

So where do I start, what do I change first? I'm currently running my Opty at 2.6GHz on a 3x divider I think? So I'll presumably need to take that into consideration? Although, I could probably push it a bit further possibly, 2.7GHz is feasible? I am still on air though...

Cheers ;)

Any chance of some help then guys, they're well and truly settled now?

10 hours of Prime with no errors, a fair old bit of gaming and my machine has been on for nearly two and a half days with them installed?

Can someone suggest some individual timing’s for these sticks? And also any benchmark software I could use to compare my memory performance? Before and after etc?

Thanks,

SW.

You should be able to run them up to at least 217MHz at 2-3-2-6 maybe 2-3-2-5.
Well I think I'm nearly there :D

They've only got the default voltage going through them atm though? 2.6v I think? My old Crucial's needed 2.8v

I think they're on a 2/1.66 divider, so my Opty can still run at 2.6GHz.

Is there anything I've missed?

Cheers,

SW.

Tighten tRCD (Ras to Cas delay) to 3 at the very least, 4 is very slack :)

Set them to 2-3-2-6 1T as you are below stock...
Are those settings going from CAS#Latency to Cycle Time (Tras) in desending order?

The pictured settings were the automatic ones my motherboard picked up

Thanks for the help guys ;)

And the volts going through them is okay yeah?

Cheers,

SW.
