*****20% VAT CASH BACK OFFER*****

Hi Guys,

The processing of this rebate has been temporarily put on hold whilst we sort out the Sandybrige exchange program.

I am sure that you can understand, Intel's little hiccup knocked the wheels off the majority of our plans and caused us some major headaches. We have had to put the rebate on the back burner so that we could concentrate on dealing with the exchange.

but not cancelled?

Double whammy,

1. Intel sata problem !
2. MSI suspend rebate !

Wish I had just gone for the cheaper board and saved myself having to wait to get my cash back ! How long do you expect it to be suspended for ?

PS. Any details yet on the exchange program?

Exactly what I am thinking now, I built a machine for someone else, put my hand in my pocket to pay the extra as I thought I would get it back. I was warned not to trust this offer by quite a few people.

After having bad experiences with MSI before and then going back to them and getting stung like this I think I will be looking elsewhere for any future builds for myself/anyone I know.

I am amazed that no communication was sent out to the people that have already responded to this offer and the only way we found out what is going on is through this thread.

Oh well, live and learn I guess.

You got the email saying they received your rebate form though?

wow there are some pesimitic people around. The Intel problem gave us the perfect oppotunity to cancel the rebate if we wanted to. But as I have already made clear we have not done so, it has merely been put on hold for the moment as the same staff are needed to deal with the B3 launch and the exchange program.

Please, have some patience and you will get your money.

Yes

Any reason why this hasn't been communicated to customers yet? I would have thought an official email to everyone that has sent you the rebate form would have been a priority? Keeping customers in the dark really won't help the situation.

I wouldn't say pessimistic just frustrated. The rebate played a large part in me choosing to purchase the GD65 over a cheaper board. So I'm just disappointed that the extra cash I paid out won't be back in my bank account as soon as I thought. I stand by what I said, maybe I should have just gone for my 1st choice without any complications of claiming money back. Saying that I'm very pleased with the GD65 but probably would have said the same about the cheaper GD55.

I've been patiently waiting for the board switch. I'll just have to patiently wait for the Rebate cheque as well now. But better information would be nice, If I wasn't reading this forum I would have no information at all. so for that I'm grateful.

You know what really stands out from what you said the bit in red shows you might of used the intel problem to cancel the claims just shows how msi thinks.

yes, the fact that we didn't shows that we value our customers much more than the thousands of dollars of rebates that are owed

I don't believe that you can even try and read that any other way

Dont see why people are so ticked off about the rebate. You will get it eventually its not like MSI knew this would happen just be patient things happen in life not everything goes to plan you just have to go with it and stop worrying the money is gone you will get it back eventually and if you needed the rebate so bad you should not of gone for the costly choice you will know this for the future.

Personally I have to say I'm not happy about the fact these rebates have been held back, not happy at all. Seems to me MSI is using this as an excuse to sit on the money for a while longer and not lose the interest on it. Personally I'd rather have the cashback prioritised cos this chipset issue isn't causing me any issues whatsoever (only using 2 ports out of the 4 available 6GB ports available). I'm actually in 2 minds whether to take up the offer of a replacement motherboard, not sure I want the hassle of taking a perfectly working PC to bits and starting again from scratch for effectively no reason whatsoever..
