2002 Beetle 2.0 anything to worry about?

So the service book is 2 pages of stamps from a VW main dealer (duration rather than mileage based) and 3 stamps from a VW specialist. The specialist services have a fully written report of diagnostic readings, parts replaced, breakdown of labour, what fluids were replaced and with what, and it has been filled with Castrol Edge 5w-30 /thumbs up

After a thorough inspection it has 4 nearly new Bridgestone Turanza Tyres, Under the bonnet looks like a new car, ie none of the metal has any signs of any type of discolouration, corrosion, even the aluminium is shiny rather than having that dull finish, how that was achieved I have no idea.

Inside is perfect, no really, it looks like it just rolled out of the dealers showroom, but the ashtray that sits in the cupholder is missing the pin that the lid swivels on, which is not an issue as my wife doesn't smoke, and clearly the previous owners didn't either as the car still has that new car smell.

Wife has removed the flower as she said it is annoying and catches your hand when steering (although I am guessing the steering wheel is reach adjustable and is at present fully in so I will investigate). It has the stock headunit and 6 cd changer in the boot. Wife was gonna get an ipod interface, but have now convinced her to spend the extra cash on the Parrot MKI9200 like I have after I used it today on our journey to collect the car.

It has a full set of factory fit mats that look brand new, maybe they are, but they show no wear.

Faults:-

It has a chip on the fuel flap surround, where the previous owner must have been hamfisted with refueling. The front and rear badges are slightly faded, and ashtray as mentioned. That is it.

She has also decided to order a VW retrofit Cruise kit, which I think is a good idea, as for the price, they are a very good upgrade if you have to do any motorway driving (£90 + cost of vag-com unlock)

Overall, I think she got good value for the overspend, and the dealer was mentioning all sorts of things that she should contact them about if it failed within the first 6 months, although he did say if the wiper blades fail they won't be covered under SOGA (apparently some people think they should be lmao) which instilled me with great confidence that he was prepared to stand buy his statutory obligations to the point of mentioning to the customer that they had those rights!

Will take some pics and put them up when the weather improves :D

Congrats

but....

You are aware that green is a very unlucky colour for a car as it's "easy on the eye" ie: other motorists see right through you (your invisible).

I'm not joking !

Yeah I am aware, it is a colour I have had before, however, the worst car I have driven for people pulling out in front of was a bright yellow MG ZS180 which completely defies logic, closely followed by my Silver BMW E36, which I think was just obnoxious drivers.

I will feedback any "incidents" as it will be interesting to monitor.
