Michelin have put out an official press release stating that the tyres are unsafe, hence they have absolved themselves of any liability should there be an accident. In the US it would be foolish to run in those circumstances

Cause Bernie is a complete and utter MORON!! The commentators know more than the sports promotor ffs!

Considering he aint the sports promotor then I dont think he is the moron (as Brundle found out ;) ).

We will soon find out though, about 6 minutes to go.

How can that retentive donkey Jim Rosenthal say that F1 is bringing itself into disripute. Michellin are at fault, they should take the blame. It would be so so different if it was Bridgestone! 7 teams against 3 - they would ran on without Ferrari, Jordan and MInardo, but as it is they expect all the Bridgestone shod teams to do what they want.

Where are these Barcelona GP tyres that MIchellin said they would shgip over.

From what ive heard on the TV, 9 of the teams were ok with the chicane idea ... it was only Ferrari who objected (for a change?) o well too late now...

If there is a chicane built, then what will the bridgestone runners do? Surely they will protest in a BIG way, as it is unfairly hindering them. If it happens, chances are that with the protests there will be the results will be voided anyway.

At least there would be a damn race taking place though!

Imagine whatll happen with the crowds when they see all but 6 cars pit and not start, cause they are out of the loops. I expect to see the stands empty within 10 minutes if M runners dont start.

why dont they just build a chicaine, then they would get a race. admittedly it would be a bit slower but its better than minardi vs ferrari. they should take a 'sensible pill'

Why can't they just pay off the Bridgestone teams to get them to agree to the chicane.....at the end of the day it's only Ferrari that are being the problem, as usual

Pay them off, with what?

Ferrari aint the problem at all, its Michelin who are the problem. All the Michelin runners need to do is to slow down at turn 13, do that and they should be ok.

I still fear a big accident though, dont think the Michelin tyres will last on some cars.

But there is an obvious solution to the problem....and if the race is void because of all 7 teams pulling out, then Ferrari are certain to get nil points, whereas they could well do, if they put a chicane in.

Ferrari dont want to loose any points, the only advantage that a chicane will bring will be allow to allow the Michelin runners to run quick.
