2005 United States Grand Prix

Also everyone - quick question about the qualifying times tomorrow. Do you want me to post the qualy times after it takes place or what until after ITV have shown their program? I cant remember what Simon/Flibster normally does. Majbe provide a link to the times from 6ish until midnight then update the post with the times after the program has finished? Sound OK?

Just do what I used to do - means you can then take a rest overnight *unlike in canada. :(*

All I did was hide the results using a colour code that makes the text the same colour as the background in the code box..

Taking the data from Monaco *only one on this hdd atm..*

Thursday Free Practice 1.

I'm liking the sound of these changes. The technology involved in Formula 1 has always been a turn off for me. I would sooner they all drive forumula 3/000 cars. Its the level of coverage and attention that makes it special imho, the cars have little to do with it (for me).

Alarm bells are already starting to ring: 90% less downforce than the current cars? Erm, that really aint leaving them with a lot, why dont you they just ban front and rear wings ;).

I'm all for close racing but these proposals sound more like fancy budgeting than actually improving the sport. Whats next, the tracks are too expensive so we'll just nip to 20 different Tescos stores and use the car parks .

Formula 3000 races are half the distance of formula 1. They are all going to be on the same strategy for a start hence more of a procession. Besides I find it better to have a field of cars on the same level.

rpstewart - ever watched a Formula Ford race? Or Foruma Renault for that matter.

That's a series where the onus is on mechanical rather than aerodynamic grip.

F3000 is a bad comparison. GP2 would be better.

Arc - F1 races have been held in car parks before...Certainly wouldn't discount it happening again...

No problem Mike

Back to Max Mosley - One thing I would say is that he always puts the most extreme view and what actually happens is a watered down version of his (so called) vision. So fingers crossed.

I know that, back in the good old days :).

Except this time I have visions of them using trolleys to mark out chicanes ;).

Which of the current GPs would you lose the least sleep over if it was to be dropped from the calender as replaced with (eg) Russia or South Africa. For me it would have to be Hungary.
