Which of the current GPs would you lose the least sleep over if it was to be dropped from the calender as replaced with (eg) Russia or South Africa. For me it would have to be Hungary.

Agreed. How about some regs for the desgin of the tracks? Instead of getting the same guy.

JPM topping the charts in both practice sessions so far. Both Ferrari and Red Bull have made a good showing. Hopefully an indication of their speed in race trim. It seems that teams try to test race strategies on Friday, and then gear up for qualifying during the Saturday Practice sessions. (of course there are exceptions to this, but it makes the most sense to me).

Ralfs crash - looks like the Toyota team are pointing the finger of blame at low pressures in Ralfs rear tyres, although Michelin are saying their tyres are not to blame. Hopefully we will see it tomorrow night and be able to draw our own conclusions.

BIG NEWS
ITV, with the help of Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, has reached agreement to show live qualifying for the US Grand Prix at Indianapolis on ITV2.

The show, which will broadcast from 18:50 on Saturday, June 18, was not part of ITV's original contract with Ecclestone's Formula One Management company.

:D :D :D

But unfortunately me and Hiann are off to see Tim and Neil Finn at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast (not that I dont want to go see them) but typical that I will miss qualifying.

Nice. Looks like DC found his wings in that middle sector. :)

[edit] Then again :(
"The Scot had a big but completely harmless spin at the end of the main straight and later toured back to the pits with what he diagnosed over the radio as a clutch problem."

Excellent news! They should be allowed to show all the sessions on ITV2, it would make it an awesome GP weekend if they could :D

Looks like the Michelin teams aren't going out on track: or at least completing the 3rd sector, Villenueve has put in a lap around 1 + 2 and coming into the pits.

Any news on what's up with Ralf? Heard a rumor he was having problems with sight.

Would like to know if he has be been ruled out as a precaution, or because theres something fairly seriously wrong? Poor bloke is cursed ad Indy...:(

From Autosport.com

Toyota driver Ralf Schumacher has pulled out of this weekend's United States Grand Prix following his high-speed crash in the Friday practice session.

Schumacher, who broke his back when he crashed in last year's event, went to hospital with an eye problem and has chosen not to compete after doctors advised against it.

Toyota test driver Ricardo Zonta will be handed the chance to race in Schumacher's place and will take Schumacher's place in the car for the Saturday morning sessions.

Montoya finally completes a full lap and puts in 1:10.726

Now its the end of the session, and a bizarre one too: only 8 drivers put in a time

I think its a problem with the softer Michelins and something to do with the wheel rim, perhaps something to do with Ralf's crash yesterday. The one tyre rule seems to be working against safety again in this case, since the teams have to use the tyre for qualifying later today
