I quite like the look of it and if it's as good as the current CTR to drive it'll be a huge success.

All depends on price point, major success of the outgoing CTR was that i was a bargainous £16k.

+ £1000 for air con
+ £500 for black paint
etc.

Most new CTRs probably cost over £18k which is a fair bit more than its competitors like the Clio 182.

Wouldnt you say it was a different class of car compared to the fiesta/saxo/clio brigade, i thinkit was the next class up, ie focus, most dealers round here were doing them for 16k all in, its only since the new civic was announced that prices went up a touch.

My only issue with the standard civics styling was the way it didn't really have a gril, just an extension of the headlights right across the front of the car. The Type-R has addressed that so to my eyes that looks bloomin fantastic.

Could do with a smaller type-R badge though although judging by the people in my area who own the current type-R potential buyers probably wouldn't agree.

Love it, and if it drives as good as it looks I shall be trading in my CTR as soon as I can get my hands on one.

Agreed, now that I have seen it with a grille, it looks fantastic, like the looks of this, but have the standard new civic :(

I'm a big fan of the current CTR, but this one I'm not so sure about.

I'd say it will probably have to be seen in the flesh before many make their minds up about the looks.

Aside from the looks, any details on the power/performance etc?

She looks absolutely huuuuge!!!
The wheels are just over-sized concepts, expect the usual 17" size on the production,
other than that, can't imagine it being too different from what we see here.
Not my cuppa tea, because of the wild in your face styling, i'm sure it will appeal to 16yr old's! ;)

As far as i'm aware it's basically the same engine as the out-going model just tweaked for better mid-range & VTEC band, which might not sound great, but should give a better on the road drivability. Apparently it's also receiving much more UK road input to iron the steering/chassis issues of the original.
