I think it looks awesome!

I've just had a spare few minutes, so I've photoshopped those 5 pictures from earlier, and made the car white

I would love to know what method you used to photoshop that, ive never seen a colour changed to white so succesfully before, wouldnt mind knowing how you did the red as well though too :)

The Astra VXR turned out to be almost identical to the Astra Concept.

Yeap it did. Clarkson had to eat his own hair or something because when they shown the Concept images of the new Astra he didnt believe that the VXR would turn out like that. It pretty much did.

Ive seen a few Civic in the flesh and I can totally see that the production Type-R would be near the same as the ones in the concept pics.

I just realised I didn't change the colour of the reflection on the ground from yellow! I've also made them slightly higher quality because I could see jpg compression errors on them!

I've modified the pics, so if you have saved the white/red ones, then force a refresh (Ctrl+F5) and save them again :)

Shame we haven't got any hi-res pics that I can photoshop!

When i first saw pictures of the regular new Civic my general thoughts were ":/".

But i've seen a couple in the flesh now and they really are eye catching about town and look very nice.

This concept Type R will definately turn heads, if it's anything like this "concept".

Burned_Alive,

Nothing too special...! Just used the Magic Wand and the Polygonal Lasso to select the bodywork, expanded the selection by 1pt (to get all the fringes that the lasso doesn't normally get), created two new layers by copy.

The top-most of these layers I de-saturated, and set to 25% fill. The other, I de-saturated and adjusted lightness. The layer @ 25% fill gives you some of the panel gaps/markings that you lose the definition of when making the layer below it very light (i think I used around +55 lightness)

For red, I just changed hue/saturation/lightness on a single copy of the original yellow, I didn't have another transparent copy on top.

Hope that helps! It really is all trial and error, remember Ctrl+Alt+Z (step back) is your friend ;)

Thats rancid, car manufacturers are losing the plot!

Car design is really controlled by safety regulations and bootspace requirements etc, sadly, unless you work for TVR, its pretty hard to come up with cars as nice looking as some classics look.

"The Civic Type-R Concept Debuts at Geneva

When Honda unveils a new sports concept there is always a sense of anticipation and the new Civic Type R is no exception. To please all its fans, Honda engineers have designed a 'superhatch' to deliver blistering performance from the same power output as the previous incarnation (200 bhp). The aggressive, lower and wider-looking body encases a new 2.0 liter engine and the model, built in Britain, will go on sale in early 2007 priced around £18,000. Expect to see more 3 door versions at the London Motor Show in July."

BTW. I have high res pics...

Edit: Told you that honda would release the pics :p

Easy way to make the wheels fill out the arches more, simply stick a cheap bit o plastic inside the arches to make them smaller :D.

Wonder what you get for your 18 grand. Its higher than the list price of current CTR. Maybe their including Aircon this time ;).

Way too Max Power, it really does look like they have gone for the young boy racer kidys. And what's with the stupid oversized alloys, anyone thats actually in to driving will look at those and say "Well there goes the handling"...
