I didnt see qualifying, but was it done in totally dry conditions?

If the track, today, is partially wet, then this will give Hamilton a significant edge, as he is the best wet weather driver in F1 right now. Even if Massa is carrying a heavier fuel load, it wont make any difference to the overall result.

I'm still surprised that Heikki is so far behind, as this is his strongest circuit. If he cant dominate here, then he probably wont dominate anywhere.

At this point in time, its not looking good for Kimi's Chamipionship hopes. Massa is definitely the in-form driver right now.

Yes. A few of the drivers towards the end of Q2 were reporting it was raining towards the back of the circuit but it would appear to have just been a few drops.

Not necessarily true. It was wet during friday practice and the Ferraris set the fastest times.
Not to mention that Bridgestone have a new wet tyre this weekend so it could make previous assumptions null and void.

Im not even going to make a prediction. This race can be anybodys!

FOR SURE! :D

Massa is not a naturally gifted driver who can adapt quickly, on-the-fly to the changing (wet) conditions. He needs laps to get used to a condition and can then go fast. I know, because I'm exactly the same.

Hamilton is in the same mold as Senna - he can adapt quickly to changing conditions and extract the maximum from the car, in any given condition, requiring very little "practise" at that particular condition.

In practise sessions, Massa can put in a fast lap after he has done a few practise laps and be fast, however, when the track is constantly changing (ie. track is getting wetter or dryer) and he is having to adapt his driving lines, braking and accelerating points, Hamilton will beat him by a country mile.

Providing Bridgestone havent brought magic wet tyres, I dont believe Hamilton would need to worry about Massa's speed in wet conditions.

Now, if the track is dry, my gut feeling says that Massa will win.

Nah. Monaco 2008. It didnt rain much at the beginning but then everyone went in to change tyres. Hamilton was one of the first into crash barriers. Not to mention if you remember last year in one of the races where it suddenly started chucking it down and Hamilton was beached and was lifted out by crane and then continued on his merry way? I dont see any indication of ability to adapt to "changing" conditions as you put it.

However as to driving in the wet, yes hes shown he can kick ass in some races i.e. British and German. But then maybe the Mclaren setup was ideal for those races in either wet or dry. We just simply dont know.

You have just signed your own death warrant :D

See above. Infact could you give me an example of a race where conditions have changed so radically and caught out Massa? (I cant remember).

It was that exact attitude that lost Hamilton the championship. He SHOULD be worried regardless of wet or dry.

Believe it or not, I would not necessarily agree with you there either :D I just simply do not know who will win this race. Its wide open folks!

Dry to begin with then drizzle towards the end, resulting in track conditions being a little bit greasy.

Think I actually prefer the GP2 races to their F1 counterparts! At least there's some sense of unpredictability in them. Last race is next week and ITV 4 show both the feature and sprint races live (or at least when the Tour de France isn't on). The only downside to their coverage is presenter Charlie who is delicious, but has zero knowledge on what she's blabbering on about!

Charlie doesn't need knowledge, she just needs to stand there asking questions :D
