To me it didnt look like much of a lift (not disputing the fact he lifted). This is why I came up with the above argument.

All Im saying is that this will surely be a point for the FIA to check.

As they passed the finnishing line raikkonen was 1st, and was traveling at a greater speed than hamilton, raikkonen just didnt defend the first corner and hamilton dived up the inside.

He didnt do anything wrong!

And even if they dispute that like i said a minute later hamilton messed up and went off on the grass, raikkonen passes him into first but as hes exiting the corner he spins it. So is that hamiltons fault again??!?! if he had held it together exiting that corner he would have won - simple.

I don't think he should be punished, he gave KR another go, no question, however this is the FiA

lol at you lot, getting all upset for nothing... The word investigation is mentioned and immediately everyone's attacking the stewards, Ferrari, the weather.

They can't strip victory from Ham, it wouldn't be worth the uproar. Bringing the sport into disrepute I imagine...
Kimi and Ham could maybe get fined for racing off the track?

Hell yeah.

All the old tracks back, Bugatti Circuit, Dijon, Estoril, Kyalami, Reims, Suzuka Circuit, Zandvoort, Zolder.... :D

I'd welcome back the Osterreichring, Paul Ricard, Mosport, Adelaide, why not have the Solitude Ring in there too? :D

I prefer Melbourne to Adelaide, but Paul Ricard is a good call - especially in the wet as it's ultra smooth there. ;)

I would keep Turkey on the list. Only decent track Tilke has created.

I thought it was good before the rain too, Hamilton keeping so close to Kimi was good to watch. The rain did make it something else though.

Fantastic race overall, I hope the FIA don't come out with something stupid.
Even before the rain at the end it was a decent race.

ITV should be shot for the amount of adverts they put in.

JRS's race thoughts:

1) Stellar drive from Hamilton - well, his last stint anyway. Made it hard for himself again though with that spin at La Source, didn't he?
2) I seriously doubt anything would come of a stewards investigation into Kimi vs Lewis. But they should take a look at whichever retard it was in the Williams that nearly did for both of them....
3) Massa - kept it on the road, even when conditions went bad. Solid and unspectacular - just what you need in that sort of situation when you've not had the ultimate pace to go out and win. With hindsight, it may have been worth him coming in for a tyre change. Worked for Heidfeld!
4) Kimi. Oh dear.
5) Heikki. Some decent work early on after getting mired back down the field, all gone begging for that dumb collision with Webber.
6) Isn't it nice when they aren't racing at a TilkeDrome?
7) Championship-wise....that was best case scenario for Lewis. He really did need to win here.
8) Looks like all the fuel load predictions getting bandied about on t'internet were complete ******** :) The front runners all stopped a lot earlier than last year.
9) Kimi to help Massa out from here on in, still reckon Hamilton will take the title unless he has another "2007 Chinese GP" moment.

One final thought that occurred this morning. All this crap that gets flung around about how the FIA love Ferrari and are out to get Lewis in order that a Ferrari driver should take the title - can we take a look at last season for a moment please?

1) Ferrari's car gets knobbled thanks to McLaren cheating.
2) Hamilton wins in Canada thanks to Massa getting his race ruined by the safety car.
3) He gets the FIA to penalise his own team mate in Hungary over not very much.
4) He doesn't get points docked despite his team running a non-crash-tested gearbox, also in Hungary.
5) He doesn't get a penalty for that nonsense behind the safety car in Japan that led to Webber and Vettel exiting stage right.
6) He doesn't get any penalty for using too many sets of wet tyres in practice at Brazil.

All those times that they could have punished him (and certainly should have for Japan), all those occasions where he was gifted points....he can hardly claim that he's been dealt a particularly poor series of hands in his time in F1.

I know someone who knows just what you're talking about JRS :D

Lewis Hamilton is 'lucky' to be in his current position at the top of the drivers' championship, his former McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso said at Spa Francorchamps.

"We'll see how it ends," the Spaniard, who most certainly is not the 23-year-old Briton's biggest admirer, told the Spanish newspaper Diario AS.

"I feel it is the same as last year; fast at all the circuits, very steady, but with luck always on his side," Alonso continued.

Hearing 10 place penalties for Raikkonen and Hamilton

Raikkonen for dangerous driving and Hamilton for gaining a sporting advantage...

Hmmm....

Your Ferrari loving knows no bounds! Lewis just about out-drove everyone even after making a huge mistake. I fully understand your love for Ferrari but at least give credit where it is due.
