I think this all hinges on telemetry data off Hamiltons right foot.
Had he lifted off? Or did he simply get poorer traction out of the corner which could be interpreted as lifting off... we dont know.

Ron Dennis said they radio'd him immediately to tell him to give the place back just in case the FIA sided with Ferrari.

It was totally obvious LH had lifted slightly to let KR past. He wasn't about to lift entirely though because technically LH had already got past him but KR was bullying him off the track.

Thing is ok, hamilton was dodgy cutting the corner, but he left him back infront.

Anyway a minute later hamilton messed up and ends up on the grass, raikkonen goes past him but as hes exiting the corner he spins it. So raikkonen was back in position 1 but lost it again through no fault of hamilton so how can they dispute the win i dont know!?!?!

Good point but FAR too logical for the Stewards

I missed the team championship table - are McLaren leading now, if not it must be down to one or two points with Kovi coming in 5th

While not official - Charlie Whiting also spoke with the team saying that McLaren had done enough, so that should count enough hopefully

wow, awesome race, easn't expecting much even though it's spa but those last few laps were great, just hoping hamilton could keep it on the track...

Hope he doesn't get a penalty, but we'll see what the FIA decides, can't really see that hamilton did anything wrong, but hey...

kovi had a DNF

McLaren REALLY messed up the first pit stop though, they should have been able to tell they were feeding him back right behind Kovi etc which cost LH several seconds on a crucial outlap

To me it didnt look like much of a lift (not disputing the fact he lifted). This is why I came up with the above argument.

All Im saying is that this will surely be a point for the FIA to check.

If anyone should be investigated it's the car that had been off and cut across the track and nearly took them both out and gave Kimi the lead back from Lewis.

Why should he have lifted any more though? LH was right on his gearbox BEFORE the corner... so after the tussle during the corner... LH was entitled to be no worse off than being on his gearbox again for the straight. And that's exactly what LH did... he lifted just enough to be back on KR's gearbox again and then obviously the slipstream let him overtake with ease.

Even if LH decided not to tussle on that corner he almost CERTAINLY would have got KR on the straight anyway.

Classic Spa, forget these new build Herman-Tilke rubbish venues...keep with the historical greats.

You picked the right race to watch. If you watched Valencia 2 weeks ago you would have got a very different impression

Thats exactly what my mate said who told me to watch it today.

I quite enjoyed all the tactical aspects, like when to go into the pits and stuff, tyres all the technical things... makes it more interesting that meets the eye :)
