I still don't see anything wrong unless they're complaining about Hamilton changing line too many times, but to me that's just good defensive driving it's what wheel to wheel racing is all about.

I'm sure Ferrari are just looking for some minor technicality to try to aid them in "doing the job" off the track, as opposed to on it. ;)

Do you reckon that the FIA send people to trawl forums to see what their reaction would be and then report back to the stewards recommending appropriate action based on their findings :D ?

Nearly 2 hours since the finish of the race... getting sick of refreshing autosport! Come on FIA, give us the result of the investigation! (Massa's fine took less than an hour I think)

I on the other hand believe all next years races should be free entry and accomodation.

I think any decision that comes will be moot since we will most likely have to wait for the decision of the protest which usually takes longer no?

Ferrari surely haven't got a leg to stand on.
Hamilton made a racing move coming into the busstop, but ran out of room and cut accross the corner. He then allowed Kimi past (thus eliminating the whole momentum arguement) and overtook kimi at La Source.

If momentum is mentioned, what about Kimi running wide around the corner off of the track to get more momentum through Pouhon.

Both drivers were aggressive, and Hamilton came out on top. It could have gone either way.

As to the weaving about after Eau Rouge, Kimi was also weaving approaching La Source and other corners....

Why are people saying 10 place drops ? Nothing has officially came from the FIA as of a few minutes ago. Unless of course your hiding under a table in the meeting..

My prediction is that no penalty will be imposed to either Kimi or Lewis.

Yes but he didnt gain a place on Hamilton through Pouhon though did he?

Hmm Kimi comment:

Raikkonen: Second was not good enough

By Jonathan Noble and Pablo Elizalde Sunday, September 7th 2008, 15:11 GMT

Kimi Raikkonen said he did not want second place at the Belgian Grand Prix after crashing out on the final lap while battling for the lead with Lewis Hamilton.

The Ferrari driver had led the majority of the race, but Hamilton benefited from the rain during the final laps to close the gap and pass the Finn.

Raikkonen regained his position when Hamilton and the Ferrari driver himself nearly crashed into the spun car of Nico Rosberg, but lost it again moments later when he spun too.

The world champion then lost control of his car again and crashed against the wall.

Raikkonen admitted it was all or nothing for him.

"I was prepared to win or lose, but unfortunately I went off," Raikkonen told reporters. "I only wanted to win. I slid wide on the fast left hander, and tried to come back on the circuit but I spun.

"I needed to get points so wanted to win it or lose it but unfortunately went off. I didn't want to finish behind we would have lost points. We see what we can do."

Raikkonen made contact with Hamilton a few times while battling for position, and their clash was put under investigation by the stewards.

Hamilton jumped the final chicane when the pair made contact, and although he let Raikkonen past, the Briton kept his momentum and overtook him on the following corner.

Raikkonen did not want to comment on the incident.

"There are rules about cutting chicanes and gaining an advantage and they are looking it. So I don't have anything to say," the Finn said.

The result left Raikkonen a massive 23 points behind Hamilton in the standings with just five races left. Teammate Felipe Massa is eight behind the Briton, and it is now likely the Finn will have to play a support role.

He said, however, that he is only planning to win races.

"It is not up to me if he (Massa) wins or not," he said. "I will do the best I can do and we see what the situation is. I try to win races and we will see what happens."

I dont care if they get penalised or not, I'm sick to death of seeing drivers use the car as a weapon where they start to move over and hope the other driver yields or moves off the track. That shouldn't be allowed. I've no problem with them defending a pass but when they dont even want to leave a cars width that should be stopped.

If you cannot make a pass without running the car off the other car off the track you shouldn't be doing it anyway.

You know...

(I will probably get lynched for this...)

But I feel a big penalty comin on... something along the lines of point stripping or even taking the win away...

Hmm Raikonnen seems to be downplaying it all somewhat. Interesting that he seems to have lost all "team spirit" and is now only interested in winning or getting nothing.

There seems to be a bit of a break down between him and his team at the moment :o

What gives you that idea? Just because he binned it?
Had he won today you wouldnt have said that...
Im sure binning it wont benefit his confidence tho :D

'the Briton kept his momentum'

while slowing down compared to the ferrari he let past, I want one of those physics breaking mclarens.

Maybe thats why they are under investigation, being in violation of newton.
