2008 German GP - Race 10/18

Ill enlighten...

Brundle said words to the effect of... "Ron will get on the radio and give some code for Kova to move over".

Its double standards. When Ferrari did it in Austria back a few years ago... Brundle and Allen went ape.

Did they today? No.

Double Standards. End of.

The whole press went ape over that to be fair, was a different situation.

Edit; Youre just making your self look silly by trying to compare those two situations :p

Lewis would have passed him anyway his pace was miles better.

It's better to have him move over and both secure points than to risk getting tangled up and both ending up in the barrier.

Im not saying its right - but every team does it in one way or another, so why shouldnt McLaren?

Edit - radio chatter" Dont worry Ron I forgive you" hahahaha

Oh absolutely. Im not saying its right either

But its double standards.

When it didnt serve Brundle or Allens purposes, they complained about it back in Austria...

Now it has served their purposes for the win by Hamilton... they turn a blind eye to it...

Poor commentators... and Im very glad that F1 will be going to BBC.

Yes but whats the difference between then and now then?
Nothing. The Number 2 driver moving over for the number 1 driver at the last stages of the race.

Hamilton may have passed Kova anyway, but thats not the point Im trying to make.

Ron said it was hard slowing Hamilton down at some points during the race!!

(Im guessing he must have meant behind Trulli, but even so it sounded like there were multiple times)

In Austria Barichello was significantly faster than MS, he was told to sacrifice his maiden GP win for someone who didn't deserve to win the race.

This race was yet more proof that Button is just trundling along, didn't unlap himself was worse than his team-mate (until DC punted him off).

what about Kimi then , does today just make him just as bad a driver just in a better car (who was awful all weekend)

You have no idea about the issues involved

Sorry but there is a difference. Ferrari had the race in the bag in Austria and blatantly re-ordered the cars to give MS the win.
McLaren (if team orders were issued) would know Lewis is faster and a better chance to get points and the win.

Austria is not a good example to compare with TBH.

I sort of understand the point you are making but just not why it is such a big issue, the circumstances were totally different.

Awesome race for Piquet compared to his team mate Alonso. Lewis raced really well and dug in well to get back into 1st place.

Who said there was team orders?

It was likely that there would be team orders, but who is to say that Hekki didn't move over on his own decision. Hamilton wasn't ready for him to slow down there. They could have made it more obvious like Feerrari did in Austria I suppose - that deliberately changed the race result on the finish line. Here Hamilton still had to fight for the win.
