I mean as in total number of votes cast accross all seats, Some seats have 18000 labour with 17000 conservative etc, whereas some seats have huge margins.

Off the top of my head, the BBC were saying a while ago that so far the total votes (ignoring actual seats) are (very roughly) 6 million to Con, 5 million to Labour, 4million to Lib Dem.

You might notice that results, as usual, don't reflect this. That's what electoral reform is about, and you can understand why the "big two" have ignored it.
