Well we've had these threads before, and it looks like it's gonna be a stonking weekend of sun so how about we post up everything BBQ related in here?

Let's see you bbq's (acidhell I'm looking at you!), recipes and creations. Try and keep it original rather than reposting what you did last year:)

GO!

(no pics from me yet, but a couple of bbqs lines up over the weekend so i'll chuck some in!)

Seasoned Salt

Ingredients

2 Tablespoons salt
2 Teaspoons sugar
1/2 Teaspoon paprika
1/4 Teaspoon turmeric
1/4 Teaspoon onion powder
1/4 Teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 Teaspoon cornstarch

That's pretty close to Lawrys but you could add a little chilli powder, cayenne pepper or mustard powder if you like too.

Mix together, put in a shaker and sprinkle on meat n' stuff.

Looks like this will be a good thread!
Try to keep the sausages and burgers out of here please, they're not worthy of a spot in this thread!

Having South African friends means that it's BBQ season all year round! Of course this weather means we can sit outside to eat. It will be either a fillet of beef, rack of lamb or whole chicken cooked indirectly, or a selection of steaks from The East London Steak Company cooked using the direct method. You can't go wrong with a lovely piece of pork belly either! All cooked on a fantastic Weber BBQ and served with a glass or two of red wine. Pics will follow the weekend :).

Nothing wrong with decent homemade burgers and sausages. In fact can't think of many better things than a braai with boerewors.

Love mackerel on the bbq - recipe shamelessy stolen

Ingredients
3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
4 small whole mackerel , gutted and cleaned

FOR THE DRIZZLE

1 large red chilli , deseeded and finely chopped
1 small garlic clove , finely chopped
small knob fresh root ginger , finely chopped
2 tsp honey
finely grated zest and juice of 2 lime
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp Thai fish sauce

1.Light the barbecue and allow the flames to die down until the ashes have gone white with heat. Make the drizzle by whisking 2 tbsp olive oil and all the other ingredients together in a small bowl, adjusting the ratio of honey and lime to make a sharp sweetness. Season to taste.
2.Score each side of the mackerel about 6 times, not quite through to the bone. Brush the fish with the remaining oil and season lightly. Barbecue the mackerel for 5-6 mins on each side until the fish is charred and the eyes have turned white. Spoon the drizzle over the fish and allow to stand for 2-3 mins before serving.

Ok, a couple of pics of our bbq/fire pit!

Sorry about our wasteland garden. Student house etc etc...

Made this last year for about a tenner! It works great and fits one of the grill pans from the oven.

I made the bench last week, I know, there's definitely a career in carpentry for me. Just gotta chop up the rest of the palettes for the fire pit... :D

I'd say a good sausage and a good burger are a staple of the BBQ. Albeit at the "starters" end of your feast, but nevertheless a must have IMHO.

Just checked out their website. OMG! :D Looks great, great value for money too!

Ahh this looks friggin brilliant too! Man I can't wait for the first BBQ!

It may be cheating lads, but you can buy these Nando's seasoning packs and rubbed onto some chicken legs of thighs and cooked slowly on the BBQ is absolutely beautiful.

I want one tomorrow but everyone's disappeared on me for the weekend :( so if anyone in the Wolverhampton area is getting the BBQ out feel free to send me an invite. I come with my own beer and meat and possibly even enough to share :p

Built a nice decking area last weekend and just putting together the new furniture and bbq ready for this eve, although ive got stuck into a bottle of Rose wine and im sat on my arse now typing away..... ooops!

Can someone spec me a gas BBQ? <£200

I've always been a charcoal man, but I've got a big roof terrace now so planning to BBQ quite frequently (:D) so looking for something that will be good to go straight away and easy to clean.

Thanks
