2013 IndyCar Series / Mazda Road to Indy discussion

Just had a look for the times, it's on ESPN on Sunday there is a preview show at 4pm followed by the event proper starting at 5pm.

At least the US coverage is on ABC, a channel that people actually have :p the ratings actually look halfway acceptable on there compared to NBC Sports. I'm sure there'll be streams around though.

Conor Daly up to 26th from the back row, Simona de Silvestro has dropped to last from the midfield.

Katherine Legge sets the fastest lap, moving up several places as well.

Edit: Newgarden and Kanaan pitting.

Power is the last of the lead cars to pit.

Saavedra in the wall, full course yellow. Looks like he was chopped by someone at the end of the backstretch.

Andretti, Carpenter, Hunter-Reay, Castroneves, Kanaan are the top 5 on lap 54.

Power looking very fast, into the lead and opening up a gap.

Allmendinger also moving up, currently the highest placed rookie.

Edit: Third round of pit stops beginning now, Power one of the first in. Drive-through penalty for James Jakes, contact in the pit lane.

Allmendinger from 4th to 2nd in one corner. Takes the lead now on lap 100. Pulls in for an unscheduled pitstop on lap 112, Marco Andretti is now back in the lead.

Great avoidance by Tagliani there when Hinchcliffe got out of shape. Viso takes the lead on lap 132.

Allmendinger has recovered to 3rd place.

Edit: back up front, but he's 9 laps lighter on fuel than the other leaders.

Castroneves makes a double pass in turn 1 for first, looking for his 4th Indy 500 win.

Next sequence of pit stops under way on lap 153, one more before the end. Viso stalls, that will put him near the back of the field.

Andretti, Hunter-Reay, Allmendinger, Kanaan, Munoz are the top 5 with 169 laps completed.

Edit: Townsend Bell with a nice save there, keeps it off the wall in turn 2.

Last round of pit stops now on lap 178, Allmendinger and Kanaan among the first to peel off.

Bourdais crashes while slowing down to pit, his race looks to be over.
