2014: 300lb to Spartan Race - My Journey from Fat to Fit.

Well done, please do not allow the neigh Sayers to de-motivate you, in any subject you will get know it alls, ultimately if this way of losing weight works for you then that is all that matters, each person is different.

Look forward to following your progress and hope it helps me to motivate myself to lose weight.

Thanks guys :)

Weight has stalled a bit and slowed down but it'll start moving again, I'm confident. I'm focusing on fitness at the moment and eating clean so the weight will manage itself with time :) Just entered the Sport Relief Mile for March 23rd so that's a nice little target, almost managed it on the treadmill about a week ago so should be ready in time.

Day 61, 33lb down and did my CrossFit on Ramp induction this morning. Amazingly knackering but I can feel it is going to do me a lot of good for the Spartan Race.

The CrossFit box is the same place where I train Krav Maga and the trainer is very patient and understanding, got a lot of trust in them :)

IIRC the On-Ramp is where you spend a few sessions getting taught movements and doing less intense WODs before you do the same WODs as everyone else.

Who needs hours of technique work and practice in a non-competitive environment when you can do a few sessions and be ready to C&J and snatch for high reps?!

It was a day to talk through the crossfit concept, nutrition and aims etc and then look at the core movements and go over correct form and scaling. My coach is awesome with me and very keen on getting things correct and safe and will not let people do things wrong. I was doing thrusters with a 6kg medicine ball because I'm weak :p

I know about rhabdo and the associated risks with crossfit but I'm not too concerned as I'm not able to go at the weights and speeds likely to cause issues, for me it's the motivational aspect, I'm not competitive. A lot of the movements will help me greatly for the spartan race too.

Funnily enough yes!

I've lost a few more pounds, down to 18st 8lb now so thats about a 36lb weight loss. Getting fitter and stronger (although still terrible by most standards). I've been doing Krav and CrossFit although my lower back pain flared up so held the CrossFit for a week and been doing rowing. Managed a 5km and 7km row this week which is an insane amount for me!

Got the Sport Relief mile coming up on Sunday which will be a challenge for me, but looking forward to doing it.

All going well really - will do another video update soon. Eating well, reintroduced lean meat recently too. :)

If you're already spending time down the gym then just eat a little less.

cake day on fridays, fruitdays on mondays.
any way im not going to hijack this thread but this might just give me what i need to get going.

Still going! Did the Sport relief mile, still doing Krav and Gym. Diet gone a bit wobbly the past two weeks due to lack of time but I'm very mindful of it so will be back on the wagon in the next few days.

All said and done, going well, stronger and fitter but need to work more on shedding more fat. :)

Just stumbled across this thread by chance, but watched your first and 50-day videos.. The progress in such a short amount of time is amazing and so noticeable! Nice work brah! :D
