2014 FA Community Shield - Arsenal v Manchester City – Sunday 10th August ** spoilers **

Glorious, just watching the replays now and, Nastasic for no apparent reason was marking Sanogo's run then just drifted away from him, stopped running, it was a painfully easy pass, knock it in behind a player who wasn't closing him down and was making no effort to close down Sanogo.

You generally spend 30mil for a player who can hit the tight passes in difficult situations, not the ones that anyone can make.

Youre so wrong, it had lovely weight on it, it was perfect.

Why do you watch football out of interest? You seem to hate everyone

I think people are generally too harsh on DM. He can be a bit on the negative side - but I don't think his criticism of Sanchez was out of line there.

He's not playing well = hate.

Why do you guys post in here if you can't talk like human beings? Did I say hate anywhere, is there even a hint of hate in my post, if so please highlight it. He's playing poorly, as such talking about the game I mentioned he's playing poorly, nothing more or less.

I watch him for Barcelona loads, I know what Arsenal were getting. He's not disimilar to Walcott in that he's better given less time to think, running onto a ball into the box with only a couple touches at most before shooting, or doing one two's in a similar area. Taking the ball from the half way line he's hit and miss at best. The screamer he scored against Atletico at the end of last season was the same.

In the world cup the same, good when played further upfront and was on the end of moves, in the last game where he played deeper he had loads of the ball and wasted it.

He's not a playmaker, he's not a creative central mid, I see no need for him to be brilliant in that aspect of his game. I'd like to see him further forwards and being on the end of through balls rather than trying to make them.

yeah...like the one where he nearly made it 3 - 0. Gotta do a bit of everything as a winger though, naturally he's going to be deeper because he has to have a bit of discipline when playing that position. Had Sanchez being up front for the 2nd goal, he might not of had the strength to bosh Nas off and put the cheeky ball inside.. all hindsight remember. I'm sure we'll see him making those runs plenty of times this season when up front..

Speaking of players being better when they have no time to think did you see Henry talking about that during the world cup. He was talking specifically about 1 v 1 situations but he said that for him it was simple - every time he was in a one on one he said he always did the same thing, that way there was no need to think about it, no need to fret, just sidefoot it around the keeper.

Yes it's the CS and yes I'm stating the obvious, but Arsenal without the mental deficiencies and with a world class striker would **** the league IMO.

He played on the left though remember, you can side foot it and have a good chance of scoring as a right footer. Not the same had he played down the right

Oh and a left back who isn't retarded. Throw a true holding mid in there too.

Key thing would be Wenger adjusting the team depending on who he plays, tactically in big games he's useless... I forget which game it was, Chelsea game we had Flamini on the bench and he started a more offensive team instead, both fullbacks pushing well beyond the halfway line and getting caught on the break every single time.

Likewise Wenger rotating the squad to keep more first team players fit and fresh through the season. He's learned neither lesson in a decade, other managers win titles based on sensible usage of the squad and protecting players with the right teams for the right games.

With 3 tough games coming up Fergie/Mourinho will play a weaker team in the 2 games before, Wenger will play the first team still.

Only in 2 or 3 seasons have we not had a lot of really quality players throughout the squad, the actual thing that costs us is stupid injuries, lack of rotation, zero form for back up players. Utd won the title the other year with a quite a few garbage players in the first team. Many seasons we've had comparable squads and we've lost out in other cups against FAR weaker teams/squads.

When you rotate a bit more you both get less serious/long term injuries and the players who come in are in better form having played more games, win win.... Wenger has ignored this for donkeys years.

Sorry I don't think I got across what I was trying to say - its not the means of finishing I was talking about, its the mindset and the fact that you're not overthinking it because you're always doing the same thing every single time.
