Thanks.

I'm interested to see if any of the GT-Line or GT-Line S appear as ex-demo in the coming months now they are launched in the UK. With the 7 year warranty and somebody else taking some of the initial hit, could be an interesting buy.

There was one on Autotrader in Grantham ex demo, think it was 1K less than a new one with only 5k on the clock

There’s a good review of it here:
I really like this guy’s reviews (but fair warning, there are a few sweariesin there)

Isn't 90% as good as an M3/M4 a M340/440i though

Yes, but more power and less money than both.

The problem is that the UK prices of the 340/440 M are a few K less than the Kia and the 540 M is only a couple of K more (from broadspeed) in Australia / USA etc where a lot of these YT vids are from, the BMW / Merc etc are considerably more expensive.

Even the c43 AMG is close in pricing over here.

Lower depreciation and low apr incentive offers make the German marques more favourable.

It’s close, but it’s not that close.

I priced up a C43 AMG on Broadspeed, and it came to £44,500.
Stinger is £39,009.

For me, spending £39k on a car already falls into the category of “Slightly mad, but YOLO, what the hell”. Never mind that the next 3 years will feature jacket potatoes with cheese or baked beans on a regular basis because I can’t cope with a car that has less than six cylinders (first world problem).

That extra £5k is just a stretch too far for me - I had to draw the line somewhere.

Yes but in the vids linked the cars they are comparing it to, inc the 540i M, are double the cost of the Stinger or more in their country.

For example the 540i is 136k Aus$ i.e £76k. Over here its c£43k. The Stinger tops out at 59k Aus$ I.e. £32k over here. The C43 starts at 100k Aus$

This makes the Stinger look amazing value over there.

Over here it costs more than or very close to it's direct competitors.

The finance incentives and residuals probably make the German brands cheaper.

I was offered a 340i msport new UK stock un registered car for £425pm no deposit via a couple of carwow dealers and £399 for the 335d msport recently when car shopping.

The recent UK Audi S4 lease & PCP deals for example undercut the Stinger by some margin.

The Stinger is a decent looking proposition but £8k - £10k over priced.

Or, depending on which way around you look at it, maybe the discounts we get on the German cars make them under-priced?
:)

Either way, I think we do okay on car prices in the UK.
USA is cheaper, but it could be worse, it could be Denmark...

You'll probably lose much less money on the AMG when you sell it though.
