Dier poor again. Wanyama and Dembele must really carry him for Spurs
Not as poor as Oxlade Chamberlain but that's down to Southgate of course. He lost the ball twice that nearly led to goals.

Also Alli has been anonymous as well.

Just been no rhythm at all second half, I guess we can't expect too much these days even against 10 men.

We're fortunate this is only 3-2, could easily have been a couple more and that's against ten.

France have got a seriously exciting young team, could be a real challenge next year. Bit dodgy at the back, but going forward they're electric.

The squad depth on the attacking front for France is ridiculous, how do you pick a team! Giroud first name on the sheet which is even funnier although you can't question his recent form for them.

So England, with 11 men, are the ones who are tired?

Edit: This could've been a cricket score :o
This.

England look more tired than the team who had 1 fewer player.

Too many aimless passes. Passes straight to/against opposing defenders instead of around/between them. Aimless looping long balls up the pitch (anywhere will do).

Slow and ponderous. Too many people standing and waiting to receive the ball. England players just don't seem to make runs without the ball.

More likely to pass sideways and backwards than forwards.

Players isolated and not supporting each other. They do not "hunt in packs" like the successful teams do. Most players are just occupying their positions and not supporting the England player who has the ball, and is inevitably surrounded by 2-3 opposing players.

When defending a high ball into England's half, the defence and midfield *always* just head it back in the direction it came from. Other teams manage to head the ball sideways to a team-mate, or take it down. England players are just content to get their head on it and hoof it anywhere.

This England side are not a team, and won't get anywhere.

Far gone are the days when a young baz would refuse to go to his swimming lesson on Wednesday nights when an international friendly was on. Had no idea the game was today until I got in 30 minutes ago.

England were **** I take it?

He doesn't get carried by anyone but is used to playing along side players who are competent in their position. Plus he's been playing in the back three most of the time anyway.

Southgate is like Tim Sherwood at Spurs, starting players outside their natural position with odd formations.

Southgate needs to pick a couple of formations, keep with the same starting XI as much as possible even if those players aren't in the best of form for their club. Actually build a group of players that are comfortable playing with each other. The World Cup is going to be a humiliation if things stay the way they do.

Isn't now the time to experiment? Experiment and find out what's going to work best for the finals we'll easily qualify for, no?

Yeah find the best players for their position by actually playing them where they play for their club! Southgate isn't the man for the job.
