2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers & Internationals ** Spoilers ** [9th - 13th June 2017]

We've done alright going forward, couple of good chances quite why Sterling isn't shooting when he's got a clear shot on goal i'll never know.

Arguably a penalty as well, defender takes Sterling out when he cuts inside. Seen them given.

We're simply not good enough at the back, or in midfield however.

I think that shouldn't be a red, depends what the rules are right now, it looked semi accidental contact rather than absolutely deliberate, but when you want to clip a heel and make it not look deliberate that is also exactly what you'd do. Definite penalty though.

Crap advert for video ref... No insight into the discussion like rugby

Yet again, only a half arsed step forward from the football world

It's a bit easy to say it wasn't deliberate, it was just as easy for him to slow down rather than jump a little sideways... it's fairly common for a player to do that when they want to force 'accidental' contact. Doesn't help that my stream from the ITV website isn't exactly fantastic, but Varane did much less than he could have done to avoid him is the way I'd say it.

It is what it is, accidental or not he's stopped a goal scoring opportunity. Unless the rules have changed that's still a red.

Looked like he was being 'cute' to me.

The rule has changed.

If it's a handball or not a genuine challenge for the ball then it's a red card.

He shouldn't have been sent off.
