2021/22 Pre-Season Thread ** spoilers ** [13th July - 8th August 2021]

1-0 Jota

Elliot's started really well, made a few incredible passes already.

Edit: We look great going forward but even worse at the back, Bilbao could've had 3 already :(

Robertson's ankle just bent in half :(

1-1 and it's no less than they deserve.

Edit: Assuming Fabinho starts against Norwich in place of one of the three in midfield today it has to be Keita, Elliot's been the standout player all game.

It was a cracking 1st half from us, we looked sharp going forward, VVD still looks a bit off, so no surprise they had some chances, but it was all pretty much us, we could have been 4 up at HT.

The new entry system is royally poo tho, total failure at the Kop end, queues were mad, such a beautiful sight to have a decent crowd at a game.

Are we not expecting Thiago / Hendo back? I'd envisage Fab in for Milner tbh, but would rather have Thiago over Keita

I'm not sure Klopp would want to go into a PL game with Keita and Elliott, even with Fabinho behind them. It's been that way in pre-season because Fabinhio, Hendo and Thiago have all been late back but moving forwards I think for the majority of games it'll be at least 2 of Fab, Hendo, Thiago & Milner and then Ox, Jones, Keita and Elliott for the last spot. Tbh I don't think Elliott will play much in midfield at all, I think he'll play further forward when he gets his chances.

That's a sublime goal.

Minamino's a completely different player this season, not sure if he's bulked up or taken lessons from Mane and Salah about positioning his body better but he's barely lost possession so far.

From what I've read about previous game general theory is he should start come weekend and done no wrong.

Studs up in a friendly FFS. Some of the Osasuna tackles have been really poor.

Edit: Ben Davies does exist

Really happy with that performance. Konate, Tsimikas and Minamino all had fantastic games but Ox was incredible.

Alisson, Trent, Matip, Konate, Tsimikas, Fabinho, Milner, Ox, Mane, Jota and Salah for the first game of the season?
