2023 World Snooker Championship - 3rd April to 1st May

Used to watch a lot of snooker back in the 90s/00s but just dip in and out now. Weird to see Mark Williams playing so well after all these years, used to not like him that much but he seems to be quite down to earth these days. Pretty sure he came on the scene the same time as the other Welshman Mathew Stevens, he seemed to disappear off the planet.

Quite a few of the "class of '92" still at the sharp end with Williams, Ronnie and Higgins all still competitive, its nice to see.
Yeah Matthew Stevens has all but disappeared from the main televised stages these days, just doesn't seem to qualify for much, shame as at one point he threatened to be one of the big stars

Stevens lost in the last qualifying round this year to Dave Gilbert but yeah his best days were all in the early days of his career then it totally tailed off.
Iirc Stevens' form dropped after his dad died, he was such a talent around 2000, had Mark Williams on the ropes in the world final but couldn't finish him off.
