2080ti cards failing ?

What a really poor release and poor show by Nvidia :(
Yes, I was unhappy with the release and how there is still no DLSS or ray tracing and I regret not cancelling the card despite my misgivings. The card is powerful but not enough to justify the price without the new technology: in Shadow of the Tomb Raider it is only around 55-60% faster than my 1080, Final Fantasy XV is 40-50% faster, Witcher 3 is around 60% faster and Forza Horizon 4 demo only around 30-40% faster; my [email protected] might be limiting things a bit though. Although in Unigine Superposition and Wolfenstein 2 it is much faster, at least double the performance.

Actually, I don' think it's a fault (see the pic in above). It's the AI becoming self aware and trying to learn how to do RT itself seeing as there are no games yet that blimmin' try to use it. :P

I'm a bit new to these cards, does this issue just effect those cards bought direct from Nvidia or is it all reference cards from EVGA, Asus etc..?

To be honest I wouldn't be concerned just yet. Probably being overdone especially as people love to hate the 20 series. See if a real bigger story evolves before worrying.

I was just about to buy a Palit and watercool it, but this now makes me very nervous.
Could hold off and see if the story develops. People always more likely to raise bad experiences than good, and we probably have more people than in the past paying £1k+ plus on a GPU(so more vocal about issues) and when you combine that with the negative sentiment towards the 20 series anyway it might turn out to be a non-story. How common is this atm?. Is it just a normal failure rate that people are escalating into something else or is it worse than normal?

Im not saying there isn't a problem. But my impression at the moment is that there has been an echo chamber going on.
Ive read a few reports initially. Then in a couple of different forums i noticed people bringing this up but making it sound a lot more than the reality.
Eg i have read loads of people having to rma 2 cards in a row. When in reality there had been a couple.
Echo chamber combined with the already high negetivity towards the 20xx series i feel has made a small story to a larger one.
