Tell us more about your staggering grasp of the obvious.

I don't know the point of these threads, only about 5,000 of these were made, there's only a few for sale each in varying condition around the country, someone could go along today with 20k in their pocket and just buy it because it's the car they always wanted when they were younger and now they have the money. It's not like a normal 2.0 Focus where someone can view 10 in an afternoon and easily work out what they should pay. That's why the prices of classic cars and especially classic Fords are going up because people are prepared to pay stupid money for them.

Is it worth £15k more than http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201404183436108 ?, If real, the £5k would be a good investment just to stick in a barn.

I'd doubt it's worth £15k more to be honest, although £5k sounds pretty cheap to be honest.
If I had somewhere to store it if buy that one!
The RS turbo was one of the cars to have when I was 17. One of my mates had about 4 of them and pretty much killed them all :(
Another pal bought one that had been nut and bolt rebuilt on a rotisserie frame by a jaguar mechanic. The thing was unbelievably clean, one of those bolts and screwheads lined up jobs
I've always fancied one after that.....

I agree. I imagine they know they have something rare with a cult following and are just trying their luck to see what interest they get. I imagine you'll see the price drop over the coming weeks/months.

Ha. Those prices are ridiculous...

Unfortunately you see a-lot of eBay sellers putting ridiculous mark-ups on things, especially dealers of second hand cars.

If there is a chance that some nub will pay it, it is worth advertising it at a stupid price. They probably don't need to shift them just yet so are trying it on for a while before dropping the price.

I've restored a couple of these to reasonable condition, this was approx 10 years ago and they were always worth more in parts than as a whole car unless absolutely perfect restoration or mint, ultra low mileage car.
I can see from the crappy photos, that one needs at least:
new front panel and wings
2 rear quarters
rear panel
sills
and that's without looking at the floor or inner wings (which will be shot or you would show the engine bay....)
that body kit can make an total rusty shed look reasonable!!

I'd say it's worth about 2k in parts, even the arches are all damaged :(

While 20k is crazy money, there's not many good ones left that aren't in storage or being pampered.

Wow you chat crap. No way is it worth £20k but in way does it need all that work. You most have been looking at the wrong car.
