***21.9 Ultrawide Thread***

Had my 34” Samsung for about 7 years now. Happy with the size/aspect so might be tempted by the new Alienware 34” OLED?

unfortunately my GPU is also 7 years old so I’ll need a new one if I want to game on it !:D

So I guess it's time to update on this thread? :p

I've had my LG 34UM95-P since 2014 when it first launched, Germany got it first so mine was shipped from Germany and having just checked emails, I paid €972 for it

I was lucky in that LG in the end sent me a free one after I had various issues with backlight bleed and I was collabing with LG at the time so had someone there perosnally inspect the 2nd replacement for backlight bleed, so to that end the monitor I have today is one of the very few out there 34" ultra-wides that have excelent bleed control on the edges. Yeah blacks aren't pure black as it's still an IPS, but my enjoyment of games and media has been excellent with no bleed getting in the way:

I feel that 8 years on it's finally time to go OLED, the original dream come true. 60Hz has been fine so far but I have hardware now that can get more than that so some kind of adaptive vsync is desired and a 175Hz refresh on the same size screen is the way to go for everything else!
Are you getting the AW monitor?

The QD-OLED or the 38"?

I'm pretty much dead set on the QD-OLED as can get it will a pretty big discount and cashback combination. Still keeping an eye out for reviews etc though as need to know the colour calibration can be done effectively.

Lucky you I'm getting zero discount so dead set on waiting for the 38inch QD OLED or Black Friday Sale on the 34 inch QD OLED as will be waiting four month's for delivery anyway from Dell UK.

QD OLED is the way to go forward in 2022 forget about LCD everyone lol.

Also in the market for a new Ultrawide display. I wonder who will be the first QD OLED in 38inch. Coming from two 27inch displays, a single 34 seems a tad small.

38" 3840x1600 form factor is EASILY my favorite size/resolution ever. I've been eyeing the new 42" LG over the new 34" alienware but I dont think I can go back to 16:9 (yes I know the C2 line supports 21:9 resolutions but I worry about uneven pixel life...)

Anyone have any intel on the 38WN95C-W, is it eol or just usual stock issues?

I’d get the 38GN950-B panel, but most have said the 160hz doesn’t function and the 94w usbc power would be really useful for me on the former.

Thoughts?
