23 mile skydive!

I await the day a sky elevator is built and somebody jumps off that from an even more ridiculous height.

Given that you wouldn't be in orbit per se, you could potentially be at something like 100miles up and still fall straight down?

Skydive off the moon tbh :D

Yes, he understood after I used that analogy. He couldn't understand why the altitude kept going up and down right before the jump.

I had another buddy tell me Felix was going to burn up immediately when entering the atmosphere just like meteors do. I had to convince him there was quite a bit of difference between 0-800 mph and 25,000-160,000 mph. :D

Lol, they missed a trick there. Should've attached some toast to his chest :p

What is amazing is how the Earth looks really small from 24 miles up

I think that's mostly the wide angle lens distorting the horizon even further, but I'll bet it's still one hell of a view.

I still can't even grasp how he could just hop off the edge like that. Blows my mind every time I watch it. 833 mph! How does your brain cope with that? I'd love to see an interview with Felix describing how the jump felt if there's one out there.

I downloaded a HD version of this (the last 90 mins or so), and it looked awesome. Hats off to the bloke for doing this, he has some massive ones.

A bit late as I was away all weekend but watched it live. Absolutely bloody amazing - one of the most crazy things about it is how we could watch it live, on a ipad, from 128,000 ft up in the sky!!

Ok - 20 second delay with transmission incase of any fatalities but still one of the most memorable moments every for me.

Hate to say it but am I the only one thinking whats the big deal ?

People skydive everyday, he just did it from higher up ..... Even I could do that so fail to see why this is even news worthy.

Judge, I am a parachute instructor and run a DZ in Shropshire (not too far from OCUK actually), if you think its easy and anyone can do it them PM me and I will train you, dispatch you, film your exit and post the video on here for all to see.

Your first jump would be from 3200ft and the parachute would be deployed for you automatically by a static line attached to the aircraft, so even easier than freefalling and having to deploy your own canopy.

Care to put your money where your mouth is?

I have an issue with one of my arms, in that I can straighten it, does that mean I'd just go round in circles? Genuinely always wanted to try a sky dive, but not if I won't be able to steady myself lol
