24" screen beasts!!

Image brightness/colour uniformity problem between bottom, center and top even when looked straight on:

5ms response time compensation lacking TN monitors have actual average response time around 13-15ms while for IPS and VA monitors value is always close to real making them have less ghosting:

(RTC equipped 2ms TNs are around 4ms)

I think the main reason people suggest TN panel monitors for serious gaming is due to the much lower input lag, some of the best TN monitors only have ~2ms compared to ~20ms for PVA / IPS monitors.

There was a link to a comparison chart in one of these threads showing different models and their input lag.

BenQ G2400WD.

Can be had for as little as £220 on a competitors site and is fantastic for gaming and films.
CSS, Crysis, Fallout 3 all look great.
I've watched DVDs and they look fantastic (in small windows so I can do other things) and have also had my PS3 hooked up watching BluRayDVDs and they look awesome.

This link compares the FP241W and the V2400W.
The G2400WD uses the newer panel from the V2400W as opposed to the older panels in the G2400W and G2400WA versions, so looking at the results from the V2400W will show you what the G2400WD is like.

Lower input lag, better greys, better default colour calibration, similar lack of ghosting. Only down side is the viewing angles as the G2400WD is a TN panel.

Can't recommend this monitor enough. :)

Thanks for this recommendation tibbsey, do you have any links to reviews for this monitor?; I can only find ones for the G2400W (Trusted reviews only gave it 6/10 for image quality).

Fits my bill nicely, with a 100mm Vesa mount also.

But I have also been considering a 26" screen as I already have a 22" as I'm not sure I will notice the difference too much. (Except for the increase in resolution for my x2 ;-)

Ok found a very long thread over at hardforums and they basicly say the
G2400W D has the same panel inside as the good looking V2400W. It has slightly more input lag compared with the older G2400W (but not noticable) and "is a bit nicer in terms of contrast and color saturation" according to the reviewer (e10)

That sold if for me so mine should be arriving on Saturday.. I will post results..

Thanks tibbsey.

My G2400WD arrived today and it is great.

+1 for Benq G2400WD

any comparisons with the G2400WD, t240 and the 2408wfp?? still looking for the perfect monitor and the only thing stopping me from getting the benq f series is how old it is and the fact that the new models are out this year!! which then leads me onto the dell 2408wfp as the monitor of choice but the price is putting me off!! then that leads me to the t240! and then the circle starts again!

any views on what to do??
