Researchers from Hitachi and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation in Japan have developed a new technology that could lead to 24TB hard drives.

More here

With hard disks continuing to grow in size at such a pace, it's still going to be a while before SSDs take over. Couldn't imagine the cost of a 24TB SSD

Jesus christ.... who would need 24TB of space...

Although yeah would certainly guarantee Hard disks continue to dominate over SSD's for mass storage, I still think however if they manage to get the price of SSD's down, more and more people will be using them for OS's and core programs.

id rather 1 drive, then you would have more room in cases to put more fans to cool :P

but also agree 24tb can be to much...i cant even fill up 1 tb and i have tonnes of games, movies and ****!!. If you have all that info on 1 drive and that 1 driver fails well you will have some bald head at the end of the day.

Come back and read your post again in 5 years. You may laugh at your own comment. I could easily use 24TB of storage if I was ruthless with collecting HD films and music and storing them all electronically. I already could easily use 10TB.
