250GB Xbox 360 confirmed

Looks fairly standard really, bit of writing. Have you seen the modern warfare 2 faceplate and skin? I just worry about sticking the thing on straight.

I would be happy with 60GB at least that way i can have well a good number of games installed on the HDD

But i will not pay £90 for a 120GB HDD wayy too much i could buy a nice 1TB on for my comp for that price.

Saying that tho you can get this: (60 GB LIVE Starter Kit - Includes 60 GB Hard Drive, Xbox LIVE Gold 3-Month Membership, Headset, Network Cable)
for £60

I would have thought they would have at least chucked in some kind of Hd cable again, still dont know why they thought it would be a great idea. For me i would have rather not had a second controller and put a 12 months XBL voucher in it, didnt think MW2 was split screen (may well be). The 250GB drives are confirmed not to be released on their own though, bit surprised bout that sure some would want the 250GB drive if they only had a 20GB.

It really is though, £70 will get you a terrabyte and a half in terms of traditional HDD storage.

The 360 HDD pricing is extortionate.

Thinking about it, I may just go the whole hog and pick up a 360 elite and put that on my TV and use the 360 premium I've got with my PC monitor... who knows.

Well yes & no MS also give you the Licence transfer cable + DVD in the kit so that along with the cost for the HD case + Sata interface + 120GB HD is maybe £45 to them but they still have to package it and pay someone to put the Xbox firmware software on it (it comes preinstalled with some demos & arcade games) so maybe they are £10-15 over the base costs and the retailers always want a big part of that so doubt MS are making much more than £10 profit per 120GB drive kit sold.

No idea, I'm still puzzled as to why they did this, it just seems like a step backwards to at least not include a component cable.

Good for you buddy.

That was exactly my point, it's all subjective. Buddy.

Thinking of getting one of these bad boys.

My current one has just been returned RROD after near on 3 years of mild use, time for another.

Really craving a bigger HD as i prefer playing from the HD rather than the disc and would also benefit from HDMI.

250gb new 360 with 2pads and CODMW2 for £240 is a good deal imo.

Don't think the design of the MW2 360 is that great.
Infact I don't really think anything other than the standard colours looks much good next to a tv.

I've still got the crummy 20gb HDD that came with my console, I'd happily buy a higher capacity one if they dropped the prices. But at the moment, they just aren't worth it, I really don't understand their logic either... surely they are pushing to sell games and movies and other content via Xbox Live, but it's no good if they don't make cheap storage available for people to then use that.

Not sold on this, 20GB does fine for me. Only use it for the odd demo abd arcade game.

To be fair, I see it as a console and not a media machine aswell.

Not sure of you guys are aware, but Eurogamer also reported a Frorza 3 250GB Xbox is on the way too.

***

Microsoft has unveiled another 250GB Xbox 360 bundle, this time for Forza Motorsport 3.

Due 23rd October for £249.99, the Super Elite Bundle packs two wireless pads, a headset, regular copy of the game and, of course, a 250GB Xbox 360.

No fancy colour-scheme, though, like the Modern Warfare 2 bundle.

I just can't stand the fact that
a) you can't use any HDD in the 360
and
b) the stupid price of the 360 HDDs

I don't want another 360, mines doing fine (touch wood) and has done for years now... but I really need more than a 20GB HDD on it and a 120GB drive is just going to cost silly money - easily close to the cost of a 2TB HDD :(

So christ knows what a 250GB drive is going to cost! Hopefully they reduce the cost of the 120GB drive to around £30-£50 or so. But I can't see that happening.

'cost me £15 to upgrade my 60gb to a 120 \o/. ok it wasnt a new drive but it still had a 12month warranty:cool:
