Calibration on a TN monitor, little more than polishing a turd in my eyes.
What makes me laugh is i bought one on the premise that lots of people i played css with told me "it feels better", a very vague term..... it just feels a bit smoother in fast movements, something that doesn't feel necessarily bad on any 60hz TFT to be honest. Not at all worth the £150+ price tag they're given over a standard TN screen. (even bigger leap when you're talking 27")
At least with an IPS screen the benefit is seen in every aspect of use, certainly feels like you get more for your money![]()
I have had a non-TN for years and years, I was curious about the 120Hz but I knew most TN panels were abyssmal colour-wise.
Once I had connected it and moved my mouse cursor in windows, I was already amazed. I started up BF3 and lowered the settings a bit to hit 120fps average and I was flabbergasted.
Now, I do care about the colours and all, and if they were really really crappy, I would've stuck with 60Hz and proper colours, but they are actually really decent, so decent in fact that I have not considered going back to 60Hz for even a second.
I will stick with 120Hz TN until the day either IPS or some new technology comes along with 120Hz with very nice colours too. Until then, 120Hz TN without a doubt for me. Then again, I don't do anything with photography or video editing, I just game a lot. If I'd do photography, I wouldn't get a 120Hz TN.
