No 05 at the m0, i was doing benchies with x1900 in vista64 and xp then 2900xt in vista and xp, completed the x1900 ones last night, forgot about 3dmark 05 though.

edit: added fear and hl2 lost coast benchies.

dloading now, 15 mins or so.

Think its pretty obvious in some of the above tests there has to be some kinda driver issue going on, some of the results between the 2 cards are almost identical.

Works here with no command line for me, are you using the latest version? one i have i have to upload the results to view them.

I notice that in CoD2, Q4, and FEAR, the max FPS isn't much more than it was with the X1900XT.

CoD2: 56 > 57
Quake: 62 > 62 (capped?)
FEAR: 95 > 99

You maybe trying to take to much power from only one of the 12volt rails..you maybe need to somehow even the power out over the shuttle psu two 12volt rails....

Or try having the 2900xt card in the shuttle and drawing the power for the two 6 pin plugs from your brother PSU

NB: You can't post the results on the Orb if you use -nosysteminfo

Gonna re-order that 400 psu tomorrow.

Damn doesnt look good for my choices then.Not 100% sure the PSU power i have to play with as it is,let alone buying a 8800/2900!

Its very obvious though the card does have driver bugs, some games performing the same on it as they would on an x1900 for example. Hopefully ati can get this sorted sharpish.

Well, Im still hoping in the 2900XT.... and from the test Gibbo did and from a benchmark test i've seen, its due to drivers. With the latest drivers apperently it got a stab back. Dunno... maybe its me...

But i find it really strange:

ATi 2900XT

- 320 stream processing units
- 512-bit 8-channel memory interface

Nvidia 8800 GTX

- 128 Stream Processors
- 384-Bit Memory Interface

And also the high core clock from the ATi should boost it more.

Imo... the battle still cannot be drawn!

Are you confident 400w will be enough? What wattage does it recommend on the box?

I don't suppose anyone with a 2900 has a DD Maze 5 waterblock do they? Would like to know for deffinate if it will cool it ok.. I've heard rumours it will..

Am on the verge of buying one next week as I've convinced myself its cheaper than it is and also being in the trade I can get one for nearly £100 off retail price anyway (its great not having to pay VAT!)

If the Maze 5 will fit it, thats a big selling point for me!

IIRC its a shuttle, isn't that the biggest?
