2900xt owners\benchmarks thread

I don't suppose anyone with a 2900 has a DD Maze 5 waterblock do they? Would like to know for deffinate if it will cool it ok.. I've heard rumours it will..
The contact area would have to smaller than the shim around the GPU as it's raised. I did see a pic of a Dangerden full cover block though...

Weird kinda fan, theres no rev up just either silent or very noticable.
So more like the PWM isn't functioning? Two speeds and nothing in between, sounds fixable.

Btw, I've killed off the other thread and put all the reviews on the second post of this thread. Just in case you ever need them.

Damn that card looks good:P
I'm gonna try my best to resist the temptation to upgrade my X1800XT to one of these until the next drivers are out (the prices will've dropped a bit by then, and it might perform upto expectations then ;)).

As there is some debate as to how noisy the card is and the suggestion that new drivers will address this, would I be right in saying that the new drivers will slow the fan down.

If this is the case will temperatures become an issue if the fan spins slower and the heat is dissipated slower?

No this is not the case, the thing is the PWM function dosnt seem to be fully integrated in this driver set so when the fan goes to spin it spins at a constant speed rather than slowly speeding up and cooling the GPU down, its either on or off, temps wont be an issue when they fix it, they shouldnt change.

How are we meant to activate the ati black box thing for the free steam games? I go to the link and its a non existant url.

Finally installed my card after spending some time doing benchmarks with my old X1950pro :p
Downloading the new 8.37 drivers at the moment, just to be sure :D
Initial thoughts on this card is that it certainly is big, but I've never had a double slot card before so this was expected.
The so-called fan issue is virtually non-existent for me, i've heard it at full speed once during the install and that was it for me, to be honest it's not even as loud as my DVD drive when that's working  .
Can't wait to run some benchies and get my scoop on the card.

Did you use the CD drivers, If so stick with those. 8.37 PWM is broken.
