Because it's a dedicated mining rig and 7970CF is plenty enough at 1080p

I am half tempted to try my 2600k in there, but will only be able to use two cards as the mobo requires an Ivy to use all three slots. Bit of a hassle just to run a few unigine benches though...

Just done mine with nine copies of GPUZ running, my poor CPU hates multiple copies of it.
