I clocked this chip purely so I could join the club:

Temps are a tad high.
Very high for water mate

My 6400 was 4.3ghz stable and more with phase but mobo ran out of FSB

I lapped the CPU so i can only put it down to bad contact, I shall resit the Water block. I may have to remove the clamp as i read that it protrudes past the IHS when its lapped.

I have an L27b that primes for a few hours at 3.6 @ 1.45~. Once the temp goes above 67C, IIRC, it fails prime.
Freezer 7 Pro probably doesn't help but I run 3.2 stable @ 1.2v so I'm happy.

I'm fairly sure this chip would do big numbers under my Mach2.

Edit

I'm using Gigabyte P35C DS3R mobo now instead
Crucial Ballistix 5300 instead of GEIL 6400
Also my CPU cooler is now a Zalman Aero flower instead of a TT120 (Temps are 1-2C higher)

You would think that with todays technology, there would be a more time efficiant way of testing for stability.
Due to my job, i have to do a fair number of physical/medical tests during a 12 month period to prove my fitness. Why cant something just be stuck in my ear that then shows FIT or UNFIT. Same with PC's, just 1 button and a light that goes green or red.

Been running my e6600 at 3.6Ghz 24/7 since I got it in March. It's at 1.55vcore although this shows up as about 1.5 in bios. Load temps are about 55-60c. Tried a few times for 3.7, but it's having none of it. Doesn't matter how much vcore I pump through it, anything over 3.6 fails orthos more or less straight away.

Not really bothered as 3.6 is pretty fcuking fast compared to my old x2 3800 @2.5 :D

Isn't that exactly what Orthos does? :p

I see what you mean though- something which would tell you instantly whether it was stable or not would be very handy, although i can't see how it would be able to mimic a long, enduring stress test like the ones we use now.
