As for living/working in the US. CHECK THE PACKAGE CAREFULLY. Tax, Medical, what allowances you get (accommodation subsistence travel etc), location. Where in Mississippi? I spent a fair amount of time in Mobil, Alabama and Baton Rouge, Louisiana and had a good friend who worked at Pascagoula, Mi, the deep south can be quite a culture shock for a Brit, the food is AMAZING but your don't want to be taking a public bus to work.
Thanks for for the advice. The place in Mississippi is called Canton. Accommodation is all paid for and so is the flights, plus we'll have 5 pool cars to get us around. I haven't been told about medical insurance yet, something I'll need to enquire about.
The stories I've heard from the lads already over there and I know it's going to be a culture shock. Some stuff I can't really mention here, but they tell me it's bible country so no Sunday overtime as everyone will be at church...
Also its a secondment from work. When the 3 months is up I go back to my normal duties...
