Hey people. I have tried googling it but cannot get a decent add that works.

What im looking to do is run 3 screens for Fallout 3 and stuff.

When ever i try to set it up it wont work.

I am running 3 19" widescreens on 2 8800GT GFX cards. anyone got any ideas what the best way to set this up?

You need softth, it works like a charm. I cant link as I'm posting from my mobile, but google SoftTH.

Been trying that but it keeps giving me resolutions my pc doesnt like and monitors come up with unsupported signal.

Then you are doing it wrong.

You have to set the resolutions and refresh rates in the softth config file, then chose the corresponding triple-wide resolution in the game.

Slight hijack, does softth have a resolution cap? I think I remember reading that you couldn't have Tripplehead use three 1680x1050 screens at native res.

SoftTH doesn't have a cap itself, but there is a limit on the maximum usable resolution which is caused by the way graphics cards address memory.

The good thing about SoftTH is the fact that you can configure it to have different resolutions for the side monitors. For example I have my main monitor at it's native 1680x1050, but the side monitors at 1024x768 to keep performance up. You really don't notice the lower res because the side monitors are only in your peripheral vision.

3 screens would kick ass for racing games like GTR... I may pick up a 3rd 19" screen.

Racing games are awesome with three screens. I just can't get enough of playing LFS, rF etc through my setup (22" widescreen centre, and a 17" 'normal' monitor either side, which are almost the same height as the 22").

It works amazingly well, it fills your peripheral vision and makes games fantastically immersive

Sounds awesome, but right now I can barely squeeze 2 19" screen on my desk, but i think with a little re-jig I could get a 3rd one.

I'll have to go 2nd hand tho, as I don't think you can get 4:3 screens anymore...

could you play WoW on 2 screens ?

I would go on youtube and watch the dual screen vids of WOW, i wouldnt myself gaming on dual screens is a bit Guff, hence why i went for a 3rd.

Here is one
The line down the character would get right on my ***'s

Cheers for the help i will sit and fart about with the programe and see what i get, After i have built my new desk hehe, had to get a new one as this one is to small now. Wife isnt impressed

Just get a 30" Monitor and be done with it, much better and easier to use than trying to fap around with 3 screens/multiple gfx cards and software to sort it all out. I'd expect if you sold 3 screens and the extra gfx card you'd almost be able to afford the 30" anyway!

'Better' in what way? Easier yes, but it certianly wouldn't be better as far as an immersive gaming experience goes. I have an equivelent to a 56" ultra-wide aspect ratio monitor with my 3-screen setup, and it fills my peripheral vision in a way that a single 30" monitor can't.

Not a chance in hell would I swap my three screens for a single 30".

Three 30" screens would be a different matter ;)

im thinking of a tripleheadgo thingy but will need to read up on the difference between the old analogue and newer digital, i have a load of old monitors lying about but would like to use my HDTV as one .. hmm

Had loads of problems with 3 off 19" LCD screens and my analogue TH2G with GTR2 crashing while loading players in a multiplayer game. Didn't seem to happen offline but I only race online these days. Worked ok by reducing the resolution and using just the central screen but that sort of defeats the object. Sold if off and bought a cheap 42" Full HD LCD TV instead. Works very well.
