3 years of pc gaming to catch up on...

You def gotta have cod 4. fantastic single player game.
Also if you like burnout, There is a new burnout game coming out on Pc!!

Everyone has said pretty much everything, heres my list though

HL2 Episodes
Portal
CoD2 online
TF2
CS Source
DoD Source
Crysis
Company of Heroes

Oh and btw, CoD4 online is the most boring piece of crap ever, single player is probably worth playing though. This is coming from someone who used to play cod2 at the highest level, notiably reason gaming and was in the uk lineup

I'd recommend:

COD4 - Single player, in my opinion, was awesome
TestDrive Unlimited - XBox 360 gamepad required really (in fact get a XBox 360 pad anyway as they're superb)
Flatout Ultimate Carnage - Superb - again with the 360 pad
Mass Effect - Superb game can be a little repetitive though
Gears Of War - Really fun shoot em up - hard as nails in parts though

I wouldn't bother with:

RE4 - boring - nothing like its predecessors - its not like some generic rubbish rather than a decent game
STALKER - over-rated in my opinion - enclosed playing areas and poor gameplay
Assassins Creed - looks nice - but the last time I played it, it was buggy as hell. It's a game where after 30 minutes you've seen it all

All IMHO

How do you connect the xbox 360 gamepad to the pc? I have 2 wireless ones which I gues I cant connect?

DO I need to buy a wired one which I guess is std USB?

Cheers

Deks

No you can buy a wireless convertor for it from a well known jersey based company (or the well known auction site).

Mines wired at the moment but the wireless ones work just as well.

Edit: search for: Microsoft Xbox 360 Crossfire Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows should cost £12.99

Id have to say all of these games have had decent reviews and are definately worth at least checking out before ruling them out. Resident Evil 4 was a class GC game so I doubt the pc differs much, perhaps mouse aiming makes it easier of course...

RE4 was an excellent GC game, but i hate gaming with a controller so never stuck it through, now I have a PC that can run it i'll definately be giving this game another shot :D

Call of Juarez  - Found the demo pretty terrible! Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is pretty bad as well.

HL2, COD4, Battlefield 2, Company of Heroes and Oblivion are all must play PC Games, so I'd put them at the top of my list if I was you!

Here are a few others to think about as well

Hellgate
NFS: Underground MW & Carbon
Splinter Cell CT
GTA San Andreas - Should get you in the mood for GTA IV
Warhammer DOW Dark Crusade
The Godfather
CM - Dirt

:)

Love Deus Ex and KoTor?

Definitely The Witcher first.

Mass Effect is alright, but a little dull and quite repetitive. Jade Empire is better (and more like KoToR), but short.

I nearly gave up during that mission where you're controlling the AT gunship or whatever it was, only lasted a few more missions before going MP only.

Eh? That mission gave me the creeps, just makes you realise how modern warfare is a detached computer game, where the guy pressing the buttons doesnt have to see limbs blown off and people cut in two with a gattling gun.

COD4 boring? :confused::(

cod4 single player = best 8 hours of intense movie style action you will get on a pc.

shame its so short tbh.

multiplayer well I'm still playing it after 7 months, so it must be good.

RE4 on PC needs a gamepad to work best also makesure you get the official patch as the game looks much better with it.

Then get these improved cutscene videos as well:

Also lots of other good mods on that site including ultra high res textures, skins, weapons, gamepad button gfx, Fake HDR Mod & lots more most improve the games looks a lot.

Well you guys have certainly spent my next few months wages for me, just have to balance gaming with my personal life now...actually, sod the personal life, my friends can do without me for 3/4 months ;)
