Vr6 + induction kit = :D

Only mine hasn't got an induction kit, so they must really roar with one fitted.
Heres the air box (unless it has one in the plastic housing?)

And the little pea shooters.

My days of noisy big bore exhausts are over, I once fitted a Scorpion stainless steel exhaust to my Astra GTE 16v and it was horrendous.

Just went out to take a DVD back to Blockbuster and thought I'd have a go at this on the way back :)

~4.0 seconds - I did 2 runs staying in 2nd and got 3.97 and 4.04 then tried a run changing to 3rd as my turbo is running out of puff over about 60 in 2nd - it covers the last 10mph a lot faster but the gearchange cancels out any benefit - got 4.06 seconds.

Tried a run in 3rd and it was just over 6 seconds as 30mph is well off boost in 3rd.

S13 200SX BTW, some breathing mods :) Haven't got a camcorder sorry :o

Wow...didn't expect a 200SX to be that fast. What BHP is it putting out?

Gave this a shot on the way home from work today but there was very little choice of roads which weren't packed full of rush-hour traffic! (excuses excuses :))

Only managed one run of 8.4s timed using a stopwatch. I reckon it can be pushed down to ~8secs though cos I changed up far too late while struggling to keep hold of the stopwatch with my left hand :)

Car is a Yaris 1.4 D4D fitted with a tuning box. I reckon if I unplugged the tuning box it'd drop to about 10secs..might give it a go tomorrow.

Haven't got a clue :o

I did remember that I have a digital camera which does video - here's the result, sorry for the crappyness, suspension is a bit hard and my passenger sucked at holding the camera :)

I've tried to time it off the video a few times but the shakes at the end as it hits 70 are a proper pain - I'll see if I can get a better video later.

How would this work calibration wise on my RX-8? The speedo is digital not analogue, is the speed still calculated with some sort of cable or is it done in another way? Not that it makes much difference, i'm just curious how it would be calculated without having a needle :)

My speedo is digital as well but I don't think it calculates your speed any differently to a normal speedo. Would be interested to find out for sure though.

Most dashboards are electronic anyway - they don't use cables but have a sender on the gearbox which converts the speed into an electrical signal which is normally sent to the dash and the ECU, the dash has some kind of motor to move the needle.

Needles tend to be a little less accurate than digital displays but the update time on a digital display normally has a bit of lag to avoid the speed flickering about too much.

Well I gave this another go on the way home tonight and managed to change gear properly this time and knock 0.5s off the time, so now 7.9s.

Will try and find some way of recording it as proof, but with the speedo being in the centre back of the dash there's not many places to strap my phone to.

I have both analogue & digital and they both read exactly the same, which happens to be about 2mph over true speed.

I can have both reading out my velocity, and the dial is about 1-3mph out and the digital nigh-on exact.

Did this on the weekend in a bog standard 03 Cooper S..
Came out at about 6.4 seconds, will post the vid in a bit.

Just to test how pathetic these timings are, I managed 6.9 seconds in a 1.4 litre MINI One last Tuesday. I'll try and get the video off my phone for it.
