3060Ti

Been running my i7-4970 + HD7950 pretty happy for a few years... need a GPU update only because I got a Quest2 to try out VR. Started my research 2 weeks ago, and it is pretty crazy to see what the market is like.

It's kind of a perfect storm:
Brexit
Cyberpunk release
Xmas time
Lockdowns mean people (who haven't had job issues) have more to spend due to not spending on other things all year
Biggest performance increase since the heady days of the 9700Pro which was well ahead of its time
Cards being great for mining and bitcoin surging to near its ath

All that rolled into crap stock thanks to the pandemic and it's just created a disaster.

Cancel brexit, at least get one of those issues out the way :D haha

Ah yes, I forgot about miners! Of course, these buy directly in China, straight from factories... I've seen vids not long ago of bunch of trucks coming to the factory in China, then packing them to the brim with GPUs for mining - before even distributors could get their hands on said cards.

Can we not go down the pre-order line? fancy that's is the only way.

I'm not sure pre-ordering with 100% payment upfront would go down well again, left a bitter taste with people waiting for RTX3080. For me a £50 non refundable deposit would be a better way. At least that way OCUK would know you are serious about purchasing .........

I hit 80 - 100 fps playing RDR2 at High settings with my 2070 Super. 1440p144z shouldn't be too difficult with a 3060ti if you tone down a couple settings.

Why would you want to tone down settings on a new card ? .... Just buy what works best on the resolution and refresh rate you opted in for without compromises

I am afraid not as its caused too many issues on these big launches, so moving forward were not allowing that for time being.
its actually nice to see a retailer taking some form of responsibilty on the release of the cards.
I work in ocean logistics so I can imagine youre having enough headaches with that and the prices increasing without these silly launches.

I really do not see when there will not be over 500 people viewing the page so will be waiting forever

The moment there is a post in the forum there will be 10,000 people on the page because people will post to discord etc.
One of the cheapest 3060's and potentially one of the only stock pockets left in UK is going to be hammered.

No easy solution if the backend doesn't block overselling.

I think for some people, even on mid card, if they can't achieve that on Ultra, then the card sucks. But that's not how it works... Often it's just one setting amongst many (like silly fog in BL 3!) that can be safely decreased for even 30% more FPS! :)

Frustrating that I'm not going to be able to get a 3060ti. Another missed upgrade opportunity :/ Back to trying to nab something second hand.

@Gibbo - assuming you do make the Palit 3060tis available at some point soon, are they in stock for immediate shipping, or would us end users not be getting them for a few weeks?
