3060Ti

Coil whine is not something that manufactures have much control over from my experience, it just seems to be a possibility with high power mass produced electronics. So that will be down to luck no mater what board partner you go with.

Is this the dual fan Palit you ordered?
Palit are fine, they use cheaper parts than some others but it's within Nvidia spec and will not cause any issues.
The only real downside with that card is the dual fan cards will be louder than the larger 3 fan options available. The 3060ti is 50 - 60 more watts compared to the 1070 so more heat and may be a little louder than what you have right now.
Yeah it is, I just hope I get lucky haha, I'm fine with 2 fans, never had a 3 fan anyways.
Fan noise isn't as annoying imo and the fans are usually auto off, the coilwhine only happens on high end games and is awful. Heat wise, my pc is usually on the hotter side but I'm fine with that - especially because my room is almost always freezing.

As far as I know, Palit are one of the, if not the biggest GPU distributor in EU and Asia so you have no reason not to trust them. I'm confident that the Palit cards will be good.
Yes Palit is slightly larger than Asus when it comes to GPU production globally not just the EU and Asia. They own Gainwind and KFA and also some other brands we don't get in Europe.

Yeah I got Palit haha, I have no idea if the brand is actually good or not. I'm upgrading from a 1070 Armor which has insane coil whine. Hope the coil whine on this is non existent or quieter!
Also... Temp? Damnn, I doubt I'll be upgrading for at least 3 years.

Nothing wrong with palit other than a short warranty. My old 1070ti palit dual was vastly better build quality than my gigabyte windforce OC 2070 super. Much more solid feeling.

Collected mine today and it's safe to say it's a much better card for my ITX system than my old GTX 1080 was!

Just need to sort out the 12pin cable when I get chance to order a proper one from Corsair.

The Palit has a smaller heatsink and produces more heat than the 1070 armor so the fans will have to work harder but whether that increase in noise is annoying will be subjective.

If a card is susceptible to coil whine you will hear it at high frame rates in any game not just graphically demanding ones.

Because the chances of getting coil whine are about the same no matter what card you buy it's not something to worry about unless you plan to never buy another GPU again. I've only ever had a card with coil whine that you could hear over the fans once in 20 years of building PCs

If your gpu isn't reaching 100% load very much and your cpu is at an almost constant 100% then you're cpu bound.
I played Warzone for around 10 mins. GPU averages 75% load whilst CPU averages 65% load. Not really sure why the GPU isn't pushing higher than that! Max CPU usage is 82.9% whilst max GPU usage is 96%.

Some more testing shows around GPU usage of 98% for most of the Shadow of War benchmark, whilst CPU usage is around 30%. The PerfCap here was Pwr which I think is completely normal.

Looks like in Warzone I'm getting VRel and VOp PerfCaps, which are limiting the GPU usage.

General CPU usage metrics aren't of much use, since most games don't use that many threads. You may find you're maxing out on a single thread and that's the limiting factor to performance, despite others sitting at or near idle. Obviously that's more likely to be an issue the lower your single core performance is. Obviously this will vary heavily depending on the game in question, since some are much more CPU-heavy than others, whilst some are much more or less multi-threaded than others.

Those are normal and won't actually limit GPU usage figures any. That metric is just there to inform you of what GPU Boost is doing and what's currently limiting the GPU's clock speed to whatever it is at the time.

Thanks for the response. The CPU usage was 82.9% max on a single thread, so I think that would probably show that my FPS isn't CPU limited.

I'll try some more games later, as Warzone seems to be the only one that's not pushing the GPU properly and I know the game isn't generally very well optimised.

Soooo rather surprisingly my 5600X was dispatched today, are we still not seeing dispatches for the 3060Ti's yet though? A bit surprised when i opened the dispatch email considering we've had zero news on the 5600's, thought the 3060s would be out for delivery Monday though, so surprised to see they haven't gone out yet. (palit)

Keep in mind that that's only one of two threads on a given core when using a CPU with SMT. It's quite possible for a core to be maxed without any single thread showing up as 100% usage in Afterburner. Even in a badly-optimised game you'll be seeing 100% (or usually 98-99% in overlays) GPU usage if you're not CPU-bound.

Maybe I’ve overclocked the card a bit too much based on its power limit (160 core, 1400 mem, power limit 110%) which means its throttling.

Or maybe I do need to upgrade my CPU :D

Yeah, don't think they'll be going out until Monday at the earliest.

Oh that's good to know. I also grabbed the Pailit, having never had anything to do with them. I have, however, previously had a Gainward which was fantastic, so that's reassuring to know

Have none of the 3060ti gone out yet? Mine certainly hadn't

I’m in the same position! It’s a joke. I’ve still not received confirmation on whether I was successful in securing a card in stock, or whether I’ve been added to a preorder list? This sucks :(

It does suck and many of us will want it mid week for Cyberpunk but the market is a mess right now and OCUK many not know exactly how many cards they have secured yet.
So for now I am happy but if I see other companies shipping the exact same card and still no word from OCUK I'll be ******.
